Cousins had a rep, didn't he? Isn't that why he didn't get drafted higher?

But he was a very polarizing draft pick that year. If anything, people were saying he should have been drafted even lower than he was. Leave it to the Kings to take a chance on him, though.

Sure, he would physically overpower a dinky little college kid who would major in Communications and go on to manage a successful candy delivery business. But there were still murky questions about how his game would translate against brawny NBA defenders, and whether he would mature as a person regardless.

Cousins seems to have answered both questions definitively at this point.

Yes. He had a bad attitude in college, and if it weren't for that, he would have been the first overall pick in his draft class! That's how good Cousins is if someone can coach him!

When has Mannix ever had the right inside info on the Rockets?

    According to Chris Mannispx:

So there is a chance with Houston, if nobody beat's Morey's famous lowball offer.

Talent wise, Cousins is as good as Duncan!

Lol, he was never going ahead of John Wall and Evan Turner (who is finally showing great value as a second overall pick).

In fact people had the Kings taking Greg Monroe to fill their hole at center, and then Cousins going to Detroit as the seventh pick. In retrospect, that would have worked out a LOT better for the Kings, as Monroe has shown that he can continue to develop and keep a level head even on a losing team.

Ironically, there was even a trade rumor the other day about Sacramento trying to correct their draft-day stupidity by trading Cousins for Monroe. But I don't see why Detroit would do that. They got the better of the two bigs, all things considered.

I'd take Monroe over Cousins easily, but if Cousins is right mentality, Cousins is better than Monroe.

Hahaha dumb ass Kings. They should have traded him when they had the chance. When teams were actually giving up good peices. Now, they will get lowballed like a midget with no legs.

Even after all this I'd take Cousins. Dude has major upside and talent.

We have built a solid core of young players that can help steer Cousins in the right direction, not to mention PPatt one of his close friends that seems to have a pretty good grip of how to be a good professional athlete.

We need more size and talent, Cousins will just add to the youth and ceiling of this team.

all you who hate thiazides should look back and see what happened when the bulls added DENNIS RODMAN and when Pistons added RASHEED WALLACE, OR when Rockets took Lakers to Game 7 when they added the hothead....RON ARREST. don't you know how MCHALE was when he was in Boston?haha rockets is currently too soft. they need a nutcase with great talent and passion who will step up for their teammates. those little things trigger aggressiveness and balls to go all in for the game.

stop hating on cousins and look back. hell be a great addition. McHale knows it.

Currently, I don't think there is any team will give up a core player for Cousins, and without Cousins nor any new talent, Kings probably will go back to the phase one of rebuilding process. Hence, they are likely looking for easily a first round pick in the trade.

LOL WTF? TD dominated college, even in terms of talent he's better than Cousins. What next, Cousins is as talented as Shaq? As talented as Hakeem?

The guys you're talking about (Artest/Rodman/Mchale) are all enforcers who don't banging down low, even Sheed scrapped and would knock people's blocks off if they drove into the paint. Cousins has none of that and spends his time shooting mid-range Js. Passionate and will step up for his teammates? When the hell did Cousins do that? All I know of him is fighting with the Sac trainers, fighting with the coach, taunting someone with the choke sign and losing, and punching someone in the balls.

I was just going to post the Chuck interview but y'all beat me to it ... I think it's unlikely that he stays with the kings, but there's not a lot of teams that will pay market for him, so who knows

I actually think the Kings will give him another chance. Considering they have no other real talent with upside, and the team is a mess anyway they will be forced to attempt to work it out.

Besides like others have mentioned the kings will not get anything of real trade value.

I agree, they won't get what he's worth, but I have a feeling he will force it.

The Kings are like the Major League Cleveland Indians if you ask me. They need a life sized image of Maloof's wife to remove pieces of clothing on with every win :)

Man, Chuck has aged in just one year. Being with a crap team is literally killing Chuck. Bring him back, Morey!
