We rely so much on controlling time of possession and our running game to the point where if another team goes up on us by 14 points is basically means that we will lose because Schaub is crap without the play action, and when we go down by a few scores it forces him into predictable passing situations where he sucks.

Basically, everything hinges on the Texans playing perfect football and keeping the lead on the opposing team. If we **** up and go down early, we will lose to a quality opponent. We have no margin for error, none. Everything must be perfect. If the opposing team can take away the play action they can essentially stack the box and stuff the run and play man to man in the secondary and expose Schaub for what he is, a mediocre game manager.

When we score first and have a lead we're a different team, complete 180. Other teams have figured this out though, they know the key to beating us is winning the first half.

So . . .are they MORE or LESS talented than last year?

Wait...Foster has been horrendous? He's 5th in the entire league in rushing and has 14 TD's. I'd hardly call that horrendous.

There is absolutely talent on this squad. I can't believe that's even part of the discussion. The "problem" on this 12 win team is most certainly NOT the talent.

Ya I don't buy the "we're not that talented" bit... This team was plenty talented when we were steamrolling teams the first half of the season.

    Damn this team is frustrating.

Its not a question of talent. As far as the TEAM is concerned. Its the coaching. Said it last week, saying it again. Its a coaching problem.

They may have the similar talent, but those same talent aren't performing as well. Our pass rush was awesome last year, not so much this year. Our pass D was great last year, horrible this year whether it's due to the pass rush, coverage, or most likely a mixture of both. Our run blocking was stellar last year, but mediocre this year. Our play-action was deadly last year. This year, or at least the past few weeks, teams are ignoring the run and going straight for Schaub. Our special teams overall have always sucked.

its not completely a talent issue, its a slump issue, and teams now have a better game plan against this team...Minny blew up our offensive line... Yesterday's performance has to be the worst the line has been in almost 3 years...

The offensive line the entire season has been average, but its taken an extra special running back to still maintain its production....Last year the holes were massive, and often times Arian Foster had multiple cutback lanes...This year not so much...

Kubiak has always states that his team has a bunch of scripted plays during the very first offensive series...If that is the case...they shouldnt huddle...everyone should know which play is next...muddle huddle, do whatever and run the play quickly...Set the tempo up fast...score and then slow it down with the running game...The defense exploits teams that are behind...I love our chances with a lead in games, but so far, if our team does not have the lead, the results have been mixed...

    Texans have:

    The Talent (check)
    The Fans (check)
    Defensive Coach (check)
    Special Teams (x)
    Secondary (x)
    Head Coach (x)
The Quarterback (-) Schaub also needs to grow a pair just like the coach.

Less, cushing and ryans are far better then the group now, and the right side of the OL was much better last year. We don't have 14-15 win talent so fans being upset at winning 12-13 games is just stupid. Look at big ben, he has thrown away 2 games in a row.

Anyone who has watched the games will tell you he is having a dreadful season, he just gets a ton of carries so his yards/tds look good

thats the same about Denver, they lose to great teams, and beat average teams, is denver as good as the record shows? why, 6-0 against chargers, raiders, chiefs is not impressive. and tell me which did denver beat: saints, bengals, ravens.

I remember when Mack Brown/Greg Davis was called conservative when he had Chris Simms under center also. Interesting how they took more chances w/Applewhite & VY.
