Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but it seems like Beverley is going to be with the big league team. I have to think this smells of a Douglas trade. Otherwise, there's no point in keeping 3 PGs on a team where James Harden can play de-facto PG.
Perhaps, but the small-ball game with Harden-Lin-Douglas has been very effective lately and perhaps they wanted even more flexibility with potential 3 handling-guard lineups.
I think the Rockets made a play for Teodosic a year or two ago, but it didn't work out for some reason. My guess is that Teodosic's price tag starts at the full Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception (3 years, ~$10 million). I doubt the Rockets want to commit that sort of money/years to a backup PG right now.

Not as good as Hoop Dreams, but I like Beverly's story. Could be an overlooked cubic zirconia. But he looks like he passes even less than TD. Not even a glance to teammates with the ball in his hands.
Yeah, but I believe Beverley's defensive ability isn't close to being Douglas or Lin level. The Rockets do care about defense unlike certain teams, as our defense have never been that bad with McHale. Of course, this is hugely conjecture on my part based on the fact that no other team has picked him up yet.
this makes sense. maybe too much sense for the coaching staff. remember, to them, Lin is the spot up shooter while Harden is the floor general

I don't think we are getting rid of Douglas. I think they want another backup guard because there Cook is our only backup 2 guard outside of Douglas. If Douglas, Harden, or Lin go down, we are pretty screwed.
This. It seems Machado is far from ready to contribute, which wouldn't be a problem if the Rockets are not really competitive anyway. Now that the Rockets have a decent record, you kind of want a more solid PG insurance policy.

So is Machado going to be cut? Or is he going to be part of a trade package? Whatever it is the "event" has to go down in the next couple days, right? Since Rox have no open roster spots.
Except when this isn't the case. For some unusual reason, Toney runs point and Lin plays SG when they're on the floor together. Douglas is much better as the off-guard and Lin the point when they're on the floor together, but whatever, we're winning at the moment.
Yes What is interesting is why the Rockets called Machado up, and even had him play on Friday night, if this is what they were planning. Maybe they want to keep him around to see how he develops -- playing for RGV perhaps. For those not following D League closely (and I don't either), Machado hasn't had an easy time there. He had an especially rough Thursday night -- 0 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 turnovers in 25 minutes. http://www.nba.com/dleague/games/20121221/CTNRGV/gameinfo.html?ls=gt2hp2021200077
This guy is mad good! I have been watching him play with Spartak for a little while and have always liked his talent. Everyone will love him!
