Denver wont play San Diego, Kansas City, Oakland in the playoffs thats 6 easy wins. and then you add Carolina, etc.
Denver - why did Manning, played great in week 1 vs Steelers, but then he played bad against Atlanta and Houston, then playing great against Oakland, and then playing bad against New England, then playing great against KC, OAK, SD. the horrid weather should benefit the Bears since the play there, and a dome team (Houston) should play bad. Cutler was 40 yds and 2 INTs in the half, the QB change wasnt an excuse Ravens - No Cushing, and the Ravens got Suggs back (better than Ngata).
Its not misleading if you consider beating mediocre competition to be a key indicator for future success. It is very misleading though if you think that beating elite QB's means something.
Quite sad that our fans make excuses for why we won the games we did... Hey, at least the Texans are not dropping games to lesser teams. They have won big games, (some) yall just forget about them and literally expect them to win every big game they play. Doesn't go like that. You are what your record says you are. Most of yall would have gladly taken 11-2 right now. Be honest. These 2 losses count the same as any, the playoffs matter. We are a playoff team now, so the only thing that really matters are the playoffs. Period. We've seen teams with lesser records win in the playoffs, happens every year. Let's stop being so fickle and panicky Houston. It ain't even January yet smh.
The 3rd Seed would be ridiculously disappointing so . . they just have to win next week and most will be forgiven Rocket River not all
12-3 and you should be happy. But the better part of this season this team has been incredibly frustrating to watch. And you think back to a few seasons ago when the team was 6-10 or something, and they lost a lot of close games. Well then you have this year where the breaks have gone their way and they have won the close games. They very well could be 10-5 or 9-6 right now. Earlier in the season I would say that they are gaining experience, winning any way imaginable. Now, they have pretty much failed to learn anything from their mistakes and are repeating them. The record may very well be a bit of a mirage. Course they looked bad last year toward the end and were a stupid fumble away from going to the AFC Championship with Yates. I'm willing to wait and see what happens come playoff time but I'm losing my patience.
they needed momentum going into playoffs but they are losing momentum. for the past years, momentum has lead a team to superbowl and winning it all.
What a crazy question! This game obviously meant more to the Vikings--they were playing to GET INTO THE PLAYOFFS and we have to luxury to need a win to lock up home field.
When you're playing at home to lock up home field for the playoffs and you get worked like that by a team with less talent and a crappy QB...yes...the question stands. IDGAF that Minnesota was playing to get into the playoffs. This time of year and going forward EVERY team is playing to win. Every team except...so far...the Houston Texans.
exactly.. we shouldve treated this game like a playoff game and tried to win. That way we could have rest next week, and the 1st week of playoffs. Which might really be needed after Arian went down today.
I knew the team wasn't as good as their record early and tried pointing that out to no avail while the team was undefeated, granted my approach was wrong. This team has feasted on some bad and overrated teams (Chicago, Baltimore, Indianapolis who is an overachiever) usually either escaping with wins or winning by more impressive scores than they actually played mainly because of the defense being opportunistic and scoring or setting up easy scores (Miami, Tennessee at home). Luckily, they played their best game of the season through 3 quarters in Denver and held on after the Ben Tate fumble or the playoff race would be way different. Granted, some injuries have been a major problem but what team doesn't have those? It's not as if the Texans were that much better with Cushing though their second and third levels weren't such a train wreck. It's why the Massacre in Foxboro wasn't so shocking. And special teams, both the return game and Shayne Graham, remain a glaring concern going into January. The good news they have time to heal and shore up their areas of concern and force the road to the Super Bowl to come through Houston. It's still very possible.
I can't think of one, but I am sure some poster can find one. This team has been frustrating to watch throughout the season. A couple of seasons ago, the breaks never went our way; this season they did. The offensive line has declined, and the QB and the play calling have remained shaky. When you struggle to beat Jacksonville and Detroit and get blown away by New England and Green Bay, there is a message there. The loss to the Vikings was hitting bottom; very, very bad timing. Saving the worst for last is not how you "make hay" in the NFL. Although the NY Giants are both the exception and the rule.
