You mean Thomas Robinson is no Lillard or Drummond, and can't even surpass a textbook mediocrity like Jason Thompson for playing time?

    dat Kings drafting talent

    That's good....

Can they just trade Cousins to us this year? Why the wait? Let's just get it over with so both franchises can move on.

I wonder if the Kings braintrust are kicking themselves for passing on that package the Rockets were supposedly dangling to get that 5th pick because they were so high on Thomas freaking Robinson.

Oh they are, I'm sure of it. Not a day goes by.

They passed on Lowry and a fistful of mid first rounders so they could draft Thomas Robinson. Thomas Robinson.

    Is he really that bad?

Or are they just unable to extract anything out of their big men?

Even Demarcus Cousins is struggling big time (41% from the field). I'm of the opinion that all of Cousins/ Thompson and Robinson are viable NBA big men, but there is something wrong with the big man coaching in Sacramento.
You even look at someone like James Johnson, who isn't anything special, but he's regressed majorly this season - and he just can't put the ball in the hoop either...

Losing culture breads losing mentalities which breeds bad decision making and fosters underachievement. It's a hard road out of the cellar, and they may never make it!

This is the GMs fault. Their entire roster is full of guys who play the exact same way and in no way compliment each other --

    Thomas
    Brooks
    Thornton
    The Jimmer
    Tyreke
    Garcia
    Salmons

Every single one of those players gets minutes. Why? Who knows really. It's a colossal cluster****.

I mean, it is sort of a chicken and the egg argument. Clearly the players the Kings are selecting are not untalented. I'd have to agree that that whole organization is so incompetent at every level--ownership, management, coaching--that it's hard to tell where the line can be drawn between a lack of talent and the poor infrastructure to cultivate what talent might be there.

    Yep.

They have drafted some talented players...but really how can a player develop if he's on the court and has no clue as to what he is supposed to be doing?

The whole organization is just run poorly. I'm pretty confident when guys like Tyreke and COusins go elsewhere they will look A LOT better. They may not be superstar player better but they will stop looking like rooks. It's like every player on that team plays like rookies.

Well, that's interesting. I never wanted the Rockets to trade for Howard, and I never thought he would want to leave L.A.,but the way this season is playing out, I guess it is a possibility. The Rockets are an up and coming team, and the Lakers still belong to Kobe, so maybe Howard would want a change of scenery if the season is a flop for the Lakers. I don't want to trade for him, but to pick him up as a free agent would be interesting. Howard could take half the shots and Harden could take the other half.

Damn, that article was redacted by Isaiah's agent, the one who also represents the coach who wants to see Keith Smart fired, and who also represents the executive who wants to succeed Geoff Petrie. The sad thing is, that team needs to replace everyone including their owners, too bad some are thinking it's the city.

I felt at the time that spurning Morey's package because of Thomas freaking Robinson was really, really weird. And so far that's looking even worse than I expected. Didn't think he had a high ceiling, but also didn't think his floor would be so low either.

Contrast how that young team plays together, and how cohesive the Rockets are, and it's so clear how much a front office and coaching staff is worth.

If Morey traded a 2030 2nd rounder for Tyreke, I would be utterly infuriated at him for doing that. I really don't like Evans, at all, as a player.
