The original is amazing, first PG-13 movie ever released! I remember seeing it at the theater when I was 5. WOLVERINES! The changes in the plot for the new one turned me off to the remake, mainly the fact that the opening scene was changed. In the original the kids are in class at a rural high school when paratroopers drop in and kill their teacher and fellow students. I still remember the teacher being killed as an "oh ****" moment when I was a kid. The original is a must-watch.
A great movie that also has this guy in it, is 21 jump street. I laughed hard, really awesome, funny movie. Recommended.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012) 7/10 Meh. Pretty overhyped. Started out nicely and the whole redeem/hero thing was well played, but the story was just crappy, the fights mostly sucked and some scenes were really silly/cheesy (e.g. the football scene). Still a pretty decent watch, but not (nearly) as good as Batman Begins or The Dark Knight. A Bronx Tale (1993) 7/10 Some good, some bad - overall nothing spectacular, but a decent watch nonetheless. End Of Watch (2012) 7/10 Another decent, but not great movie. Started off a little slow, but certainly had its moments. The (supporting) cast wasn't great and kinda brought this movie down a little for me, but I guess that was to be expected from a low-budget movie.
The Professional 7/10. Pretty good movie but a young Natalie Portman had me feeling like a pedophile considering my feelings towards here now.
Anna Karenina: 8.75/10 I know its a time period piece and I only went to see Keira but the interesting part of it was being a play. Artsy, yes, genius, absolutely.
Wreck It Ralph - Finally saw this and I really enjoyed it. Really solid emotional connections and just spot on voice acting and casting all around. Wished they'd explored more video game worlds but even with that I left very impressed. B+
Ted - 5/10 For the hype this movie got, I thought it would be hilarious. I was wrong. It sucked pretty bad. Two funny scenes maybe. The scene where they are discussing white trash girl names was pretty great. The rest felt like a bad episode of Family Guy. Mila Kunis is hot. Thats about it.
Savages - 4/10 Ending was horrendous and Blake Lively is annoying as ****. Horrible Characters and 0 development. The only positives was Salma Hayek and her right hand man. Oliver Stone sucks.
Do you have any non-dip**** posts that I've missed? I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt but that's fading fast.
The last movie I watched was 200 MPH on Netflix. 1/10 It's a fast and the furious remake. They can't even get the cars name right and the main car magically changes from being a RX7 to a 240SX and then back into a RX7 throughout the movie. I don't know if they just don't know their cars or if they think we would be fooled.
Fight Club = GOAT movie a couple good other ones; Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Children of Men Hurt Locker Inside Man
Great U.S. War Movies (random I know, lol) Saving Private Ryan The Longest Day FMJ Inglorious Basterds Jardhead Black Hawk Down The Hurt Locker The Patriot Platoon
? all of these are too new (except FMJ). New war movies suck. Loud noises and explosions. They focus too much on trying to portray the ugliness of war. How about: Twelve O'clock High Patton Bridge over the River Kwai
Looper 5/10 Not much original in this movie. It borrowed so much from other films that it almost seemed as if I'd seen it already. Need to add "The Thin Red Line" to that list
