Awesome screen caps. Love this hype with IGN. Can't wait to see the trailer. Wish the PC version would come out at the same time. Hate buying the game twice.
Trailer #2 debuts at 10 AM CST tomorrow. I'm sure you can watch it many places (IGN), but more directly here. http://www.rockstargames.com/V/

Damn. Looks great. With the promised huge map, I don't think I'm going to have much of a life the release week.
They're said that the missions are going to be very heist centric. There will be 4 or 5 major heists in the game a la "Three Leaf Clover" from GTA IV and a lot of the other missions are doing things in preparation for those heists. They've compared it to "Oceans 11". This is supposed to cut down on piddly little BS filler missions. I find the characters interesting. Michael is the guy who made it to the top of the criminal world and cashed out. He's in witness protection and is living the high life. Only his wife hates him and spends all his money and his kids are assholes and he's just not happy. Trevor was Michael's old partner in crime. But where Michael won, Trevor lost. Trevor lives in a trailer out in the country and is a gun runner and drug dealer. He's also a pyromaniac psychopath. He's an ex-military pilot and will do a lot of the flying in the game. Franklin is in his 20s, an ex-gang member who wants to move up the ladder. He's the closest of the three to the traditional GTA protagonist, the guy on the bottom who's working his way up. He works as a repo man and likely the main wheel man in the game. You can switch between characters on missions so you can fill your preferred role. If one guy goes in some place guns blazing while another guy is sniping from further away, you can pick which guy to play as. If you're in a helicopter equipped with machine guns, you can choose to fly or shoot the guns out the side as people are chasing you. Should create a lot of replayablilty. The map is huge. Supposedly you can fit San Andreas + Red Dead Redemption + LA Noire in the map and have room to spare. And it's all open from the start. No need to progress the story to unlock certain areas. I like everything I've heard about it so far. It'll be out in only a few months. Can't wait.
No official date but Rockstar likes to release games in March and April so that general time frame is a good bet.
Sucks there is no release date for PC. Since Rockstar is so anti piracy, i hope they do a good port for the PC version
There have been rumors of a 12/31/12 release. Anyone heard anything else about this? I figured if this were true, I'd be seeing it all over the TV and internetz.
There is absolutely nothing to gain by releasing a game with 2 weeks notice. That's a very silly rumor.
Everything I have seen or heard has pointed to Spring 2013. If the game were on the eve of release, we would have a lot more content in our hands by now. I wish though
