I understand what you're saying, but it's not 2 different things. It's the same thing to deal with in different ways. Religion may seem arduous, but it exists to make our lives easier. Instead of having to navigate conflicts based on our own accord, we are prescribed a way of life. I get what you mean when you say it's hard, but just try to re-frame your issues and take a positive outlook. Temptation is everywhere, but the disciplined man is the truly successful one. Instead of feeling restricted/repressed, see it as a candid plan to find your way. Many of us have grappled with challenges presented by faith (and continue to fight with it), but just remember that you have support. Don't lose yourself in the race for dunyaa. If all else fails, talk to someone (a real living person) about it, not just us jerks on an internet forum. /sidebar Saturday should be just fine. In that it exists.
You are right. Thanks. I've been successful being away from all that till now (18). College makes it way harder than it was in high school.
I've been reading up on these matters diligently for the past 2 years, and I'm thinking it will come by either a worldwide quake or life extinguishing solar flare. Either way, I do NOT want my family to suffer the painful death or agony that will follow (war, starvation, pestilence), and I am leaping off the Transco tower, or the Wells Fargo tower if Transco is inaccessible, at exactly 11:59 pm Greenwich time with my girlfriend and our precious baby boy. (This was both of our decision).
I am curious, do they say it will end at midnight of 12/21/12 - so Friday morning/Thursday night? Or does it in at the end of Saturday on 12/22? When do I get drunk? You don't know? What if it's tomorrow? Crap, better get drunk all three nights, just in case...
I predict an event will occur on Dec 21, 2012, at around 6-7pm, sky will turn darker and dark till complete darkness, and will last for 10 hours. If you experience this event, do not panic, go to sleep. I promise it'll be alright when you wake up on the 22nd.
Why did the Mayans craft such awesome stonework? I'll tell you... because all they knew how to do was pile things. They were masters of piling rocks. They didn't have access to modern techniques to build with easier and more efficient materials with better techniques. Still, they must have known so much. Should be scared for sure.
Guys, this Mayan stuff... call me wrong but maybe it's just something started by a dying tourism industry in Mexico.... http://www.ibtimes.com/mexico-expects-52m-doomsday-tourists-2012-387018 "The Mexican government expects 52 million tourists to visit the Mayan heartland in the southern states of Chiapas, Yucatan, Quintana Roo, and Tabasco. The tourism office said Wednesday in a communique that visitors will likely spend about 270 million pesos ($19.5 million) in the coming year." Think about all of the other people profiting off this supersticious belief that a calendars reseting is the end of it all. History Channel and survivalist companies/personalities?
Oh man on that topic, I ended up finding this great read on the subject of Mayan BS: http://www.explorandomexico.com/about-mexico/5/393/
If you had visited the MAYAN ruins anytime this past year... you would have heard everyone in touristic places down in the Rivera that the so-called end of the world is nothing but mumbo jumbo... they're not the ones advertising to bring more tourists and they'll tell you this themselves... someone else started that. And... ummm... that's an AZTEC calendar on that page... so... I don't know what's up with that and if you believe someone who doesn't even know the difference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmTNO-lEBFk (in SPANISH)
Alright, so you believe the world is gonna end in two days. or You believe there is a chance. Did you know they sell lottery tickets?
Dying tourism industry in Mexico? That is not true, despite the violence, a lot of people still visit Mexico. and actually the tourism in Mexico is increasing, and the projections are that in 2018 Mexico would be one of the top 5 destinations.
