All I've learned from this tragedy is that the religious right is as stupid as ever and I really think I don't want my children growing up in this painfully ignorant country.

clearly you do not understand the point made, which isn't terribly surprising. I'm not even sure I'm for 30 round magazines but you wouldn't know that because that would require the ability to reasonable listen and not be a flying-off-the-handle, word twisting jerk.

    End of fact stating.

    I think Spankings help . . . yes.
I think Spankings alone . . .are not the answer

as for the mentally ill . . . .too often it is after the fact
Someone does something crazy . . .so they must be crazy
but before the crazy event . . .no one knew anything about them being ill.
It alot of times just comes as a post event justification

I think alot of prevention could be done
within the family . . .and society
    without the drugs

An Ounce of prevention . . is worth a pound of cure

You still don't get it. That's fine. It's an emotional topic

Curious as to why something less than 30 rounds is needed. Would a 10 round magazine be sufficient for whatever you need the firearm for?

    What IS your point then?

Because the original one you tried to make (and the subsequent points following it) has been crushed to pieces by several posters.

Your point was some riff on the theme that reloading & high capacity magazines don't really make an incremental difference, the great weight of the evidence shows otherwise.

    crushed? Give me a break.

It's a tragedy that was probably going to happen whether it was a 30 round magazine or not. That's all I was trying to say. You can argue what "would" have happened had he had to change clips and what "wouldn't" have happened. It's just speculative but I just don't think the outcome would have been much different whether it was a 30 round magazine or 15. You do think it would have been different. It is purely opinion, that's fine. Sorry I even brought it up.

You and me both, man. But moving to a new country is often a bit difficult. But, if you think it's worth it (I certainly do) for your kids, go for it.

    OK, Mr. Emotional.

If you had said that, no one would be arguing with you. People were going to die, we know this.

I'm not saying it would result in one thing or another, I'm saying it gives, at the very least, a chance for a better outcome, both then and in the future.

It would all depend on the type of gun more than likely....something along the lines of higher caliber the less of capacity. Ten rounds for a high caliber rifle is plenty if it's being used for hunting purposes. Then again, most hunters use bolt action anyways so it really won't effect them since they don't have a removable clip (at least that's been my experience with hunting rifles).

Last night, at about 1:30, both my boys woke up and started screaming. It usually only lasts for a few minutes, then they fall back asleep and don't do it for the rest of the night. Rarely do we even have to get up. But this time it went on for about 10 minutes and we begrudgingly decided to go up and see what was going on.

While I was trying to calm one of them down, I was slightly annoyed that I had to get out of bed, go upstairs and tend to a screaming child less than an hour after I had finally fallen asleep.

Then I remembered that there are 20 sets of parents in Connecticut that would give ANYTHING to be doing what I was doing at that very moment. I have to admit, I got a little teary eyed just thinking about it.

So yeah....that's what I've learned from this tragedy. Never take a single moment of life for granted.

I don't see how rolling my eyes is emotional, but that's beside the point.

what I initially said was this...
Maybe it read wrong but I still think it's basically saying what I just had to reiterate. Personally, I don't think a smaller capacity would have done much in this case. However, I can fully understand how it could in the future under different circumstances.
