Andre is obviously great...but it's just disrespectful to say that his career equals that of Hakeem's or Earl's. It's really not even close.

    Hakeem

    2× NBA champion (1994–1995)
    2× NBA Finals MVP (1994–1995)
    NBA Most Valuable Player (1994)
    12× NBA All-Star (1985–1990, 1992–1997)
2× NBA Defensive Player of the Year (1993–1994)
    3× NBA blocks champion (1990-1991, 1993)
    6× All-NBA First Team (1987–1989, 1993–1994, 1997)
    3× All-NBA Second Team (1986, 1990, 1996)
    3× All-NBA Third Team (1991, 1995, 1999)
    5× All-Defensive First Team (1987–1988, 1990, 1993-1994)
    4× All-Defensive Second Team (1985, 1991, 1996–1997)
    NBA All-Rookie Team (1985)
    NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team

    Earl Campbell

Rated #55 NFL Player of all-time by NFL.com
    5× Pro Bowl selection (1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1983)
    3× All-Pro selection (1978, 1979, 1980)
1978 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
    1979 AP NFL MVP
    3× NFL Rushing champion (1978, 1979, 1980)
    2× PFWA NFL MVP (1978, 1979)
    3× NEA NFL MVP (1978, 1979, 1980)
3× NFL Offensive Player of the Year (1978, 1979, 1980)
1978 UPI AFL-AFC Player of the Year
    1979 Bert Bell Award

    Andre

    5× Pro Bowl selection (2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010)
    4× All-Pro selection (2006, 2008, 2009, 2010)
    4× Houston Texans Team MVP (2006, 2008, 2009, 2010)
3× NFL Alumni Wide Receiver Of The Year (2006, 2008, 2009)
    2× NFL Receiving Yards Leader (2008, 2009)
AFC Offensive Player of the Month(2012)

All are fantastic accomplishments...but you're simply blind to the facts if you can say that Andre Johnson = Earl Campbell or Hakeem Olajuwon.

Having said that....all 3 are legends. It's just obvious that Andre Johnson is dragging behind the other 2.

Meh, if 'Dre gets rings he's ahead of Earl.

    Yeah, no.

Just one ring doesn't make him, individually, be ahead of Earl.

But it may bring him a LOT closer.

You are right, sir. I agree.

BEST to WORST of some notable Houston Players spectrum in my opinion
    CURRENTLY:
    HO--EC-CB-JB-----------AJ----YM---------CB-----------TM---|-----------------------------------------------------SP

Depending on how AJ does in the rest of the season, postseason:
    HO-AJ-EC-CB-JB---------------YM---------CB-----------TM---|-----------------------------------------------------SP

Oh please, they got entirely too much media coverage and had entirely too good attendance early on not to have been seen in such a great light. I'm not saying everyone was behind them or cared but you're lying if you think no one cared.

Plus, like I said, they were dominant and actually came through in big spots unlike 99/100 real Houston sports teams throughout history so for that alone they should be regarded higher than some so-called real sports stars.

I think anyone who was alive and experienced the Earl Campbell era in Houston would say that Earl would trail only Hakeem as a Houston Sports Icon, and some would pick Earl over Hakeem. The big four are Hakeem, Earl, Ryan, and Foyt. Everyone else is pretty far removed from those four.

if you're referring to nolan ryan, then I'd just like to point out that he didn't choose his Astros cap for Cooperstown. Not cool.

Time to ride the Dre' train. Put the team on his back.
