Greatest passing big man I've seen... not an incredible post player, not a super physical player for a 7 footer. But good court awareness, played to his strengths, a solid scorer and rebounder, and offensive player in general. But a little soft, to be honest, which was the knock on those Cavs teams.
How great was grant hill? And in honesty how great was yao ming? i actually watched both with yao alot alot more, hill not as much as i was younger... And i know how i feel of them but what about yall?
Barkley was one of the 3-4 best rebounders I have ever seen. He was as strong as an ox but as explosive and quick as a shooting guard. As a result he could score in a variety of ways and against certain match ups was almost unstoppable. His problem was defense and focus. He was a super star.
Charles Barkley was/is: The greatest player ever to not win a championship (Now that Lebron has one) The greatest PF ever (2nd if you count Tim Duncan as a PF) Maybe the most efficient high-volume scorer of all time The second best offensive player in the 90's, top 7 of all time, especially considering his offensive rebounding prowess
Very high volume shooter. Very low efficiency, I'm talking like all-time low, sub-.400 TS% low. He was just a big body out there who occupied a lot of space in the lane. He once fouled out and tried to come in the game in a jersey with a different player's name on it. Got banned from the league after that.
Grant Hill pre knee injuries (94-99) was the 2nd/3rd best wing player at that time behind Jordan and depending on which side of the argument you fell on right there with Penny. In his prime, Hill was capable of going 25/5/5 on any night. He was also a triple double waiting to happen. The only thing he lacked back than was a 3 point shot. Other than that, no weakness in his game. Also, before the injuries he was probably the best finisher at the basket. He was big (6'8'' 220lbs) while being atletic and a great ball handler. He could drive by whoever defended him and finish against bigs down low because of his size/strength. During his 5 year pre injury window he was Magic with more offense. And while that may sound outlandish, it is the truth. On a side note, his time as a superstar came to an end because Detroit never let his knee heel. They rushed him back for the playoffs his last year in Detroit and he never recovered his previous form with multiple knee injuries that followed and the infection that almost took his life during his time in Orlando.
Smh, No need for the 'official' label on a Mitch Richmond thread, doubt theres anymore about this guy he was damn good, he wouldve been considered more of an all time great had he been in a larger market. Stupid NBA
Cato showed flashes of Shawn Kemp and THAT got him a contract he earned only in the pre-season. Then he got fat, slow, and useless.
Definitely the most entertaining player to watch at that time... One person compared him to Lebron.. In my opinion, he was Lebron with more range, the same court-vision, better handles, but less finishing ability.
A phenomenal scorer, ball-handler and shooter. It be interesting to see how guys like him and West would have done if there was a three-point line for his whole career or if they hadn't called assists as strict back then. Just how good was Drazen Petrovich ?
