What makes you think he should play SG? Thats basically what he is playing right now. Clearly that's not working.

He's effective with the ball in his hands running the offense. As has been proven. Just like harden. He should go to the bench and play the pg. The time alone should help him get in a rhythm and actually make him effective once he and harden are actually on the floor together.

I still think harden should be playing off the ball more though, if only to get him some easier shots when the d isn't focused on him. Its no coincidence that he is leading the league in turnovers and his shooting % has dropped pretty significantly from last year.

so at most 10-12 mins without Harden on the floor when hes closing games or important junctures of the games he still has to play next to Harden. They have to figure this out. cant run away and hide from this

Having him on the floor should give them more time to rest harden though. Not sure they want to be playing him 40 minutes a night.

Lin would be a good 6th man in any team. Until Lin improves his jumpers, I don't thing he can co-exist with Harden and still put up Linsanity numbers.

This is not a good sign, being too hard on yourself can turn bad quickly.

We only have Lin signed for 3 years, Harden for 6. You don't bring Harden off the bench.

There shouldn't be any issue with Lin and Harden co-existing. The Lin issues are artificial. They can both get 15+ quality shots a game, as they have demonstrated in the first two games sans the incompetent meddling from the coaching staff.

Either bat down the hatch and hire an established coach at the end of the year, or bite the bullet and fire McHale now. Either way the issue will be resolved without any added drama and laughfest experiments.

For all of those talking about a Lin trade...

I know you guys on this board don't care about this, but Jeremy Lin is a huge worldwide sensation. He makes a lot more money for the franchise than your typical average starter.

It would be shocking to me if Lin is traded this year. Next year, depending on how he does after 1 year, it might make more sense, but would be shocking, just shocking, if he's traded this year. His business impact is just enormous. Again, not a decision factor the average fans, but a huge factor to the people who make decisions for the Rockets.

Plus the reality is that Lin is a decent, if not above average player, that is playing down because of whatever reason. And you never sell low.

With that said, nothing against Lin personally, but this LOF vs LOH debate is so tiring. Would love it to end, though obviously ending the flame war shouldn't be in the top 100 reasons to trade Lin.

Yeah, given all the chinese language ads around Toyota Center, I'd be HIGHLY surprised if Lin gets moved this season.

End of the season... who knows. (Not even Morey)

I think James Harden has a better chance playing off the ball then Jeremy Lin does. Can't they run more plays for Jeremy Lin with Harden playing spot up and cutting? Harden is good at cutting off the ball.

Kind of reminds me of Kobe in a way, the guy is one of the best off the ball players but wants the ball all the time

The coaching staff just doesn't seem to see beyond a 'Let's get out there and compete' type of game plan. The finer details seem lost on them, completely.

If that was the case Jeremy would have already been demoted to a bench role some time ago. The fact that he will still be the starter for however long shows that they are more concerned with making the Lin/Harden combo work long term.

But wouldn't giving him 15-20 minutes a game lower his PPG average, if not staying the same? Isn't the goal to let him be a better scorer off the bench, not stay the same?
