Man, I know people don't actually read long passages on message boards, but not even two sentences? Impressive to say the least.

Bro, you said when the running game and defense is not existent, you can tell Matt Schaub is Matt Schaub.

I was pointing out that Schaub isn't a scrub or a below-average player even without a running game or defense.

I apologize if I am misunderstanding your posts. Cause I'm not to sure what else you might have been trying to say.

I think we can all agree that the running game (which includes the O-line) and the defense (especially the pass rush) needs to step up big time in order for us to win a Superbowl.

Why people forget that in 2009 he lead the league in passing yards with 4,770 without Foster in the lineup, and without the big defense they had in the beginning of the season.

All QBs need help to win the superbowl, no QB can win a superbowl if the team doesnt help him.

How did Eli "Elite QB" Manning do in a big game vs ATL? And why is his team not even leading their division? Could this elite QB have possibly cost his team a playoff berth?

dude has won 2 superbowls, pretty sure that's a terrible comparison... regardless of his stats, schaub has yet to prove he can deliver on a big stage.

Seems like he did just fine yesterday with the #1 seed and division title on the line.

I'm sure after he wins a playoff game, it'll be "but he hasn't done it in a title game".

Then after that, "but he hasn't done it in a superbowl".

Then after that, "but he hasn't done it in multiple superbowls".

    And on, and on...

Welcome to the conversation. You obviously missed the point. The point is that "Elite QBs" also have "folded" in big games and will. We can't put that just on Matt Schaub and not on other QBs.

The Giant's loss was much bigger than the Texan's loss. Even the best QBs have bad games in primetime. Shoot, even Tom Brady threw two interceptions and just one touchdown in a primetime loss.

i hardly call that a "big stage." his primetime qbr #'s have been posted several times and they speak for themself. that said it isn't just him, this whole team has a performance issue when the national spotlight is on.

    LOL. Ok.

I'd rather my QB win when there was something at stake, regardless of who is watching on TV.

You keep worrying about what John Gruden thinks, meanwhile, I'm gonna go buy my 2012 AFC South Division Champions hat.

Seriously. By that logic, our game against the freaking Jets was more important than the Broncos/Ravens/Colts games, all because it was "in primetime".

dude has never even played in a playoff game.. wth are you talking about? regardless of whether or not you think he is a good qb, he has almost ZERO track record of playing in big, primetime games... and in the ones he has played in (national spotlight against elite teams) he has played borderline terribly. sorry for thinking that his resume of playing well in most regular season games instills a lack of confidence.

the GB and NE games left a terrible taste in my mouth. you want to be confident that he can do it? have at it. i'm a bit more cynical.

I'm so proud of the Texans, and that we won the division again. And more importantly that we have a great chance to get the number 1 seed of the AFC. HOWEVER, the playoffs and more importantly the Superbowl are primetime. So that is something that has to be a concern. Especially since most Texans fan expectations are Superbowl or bust.

look if you don't think schaub has a problem playing on the national stage, particualrly against elite teams, no one is going to convince you. his numbers speak for themself.

and calling yesterday's game a "big time" game even though w a loss we still would've had a 2 games to clinch the division is laughable. AJ called the NE game the biggest in this teams history... and look what the team (and schaub) did. can't recall a single player saying that about yesterdays game.
