Would Morey be thinking about replacing this coaching staff or if not, had fired the coach already if it wasn't for coach McHale's loss in the family?

No disrespect or anything like that and i still feel bad and sorry for what had happened but this just crossed my mind and some other fans as well, no?

No, he tends to wait for the offseason to fire coaches, so the new guy has a training camp to implement his system.

    We need D'Antoni.
Let's hope the Lakers have a quick trigger finger and continue sucking.

Why? Just so the LOFs can be happy?

It's not just about LOFs...LOFs and other nonbiased Rocket fans see problems with the current coaching staff. If you can't, then maybe you..should try.

What the..."Afraid to Ask".... last time I checked, the people that are apparently thinking this frequently voice their opinions freely in threads such as these-

No, Morey and the front office have clearly stated that they do not believe in firing coaches during the season. Sasha tragically passing away has nothing to do with saving McHale's job, and you should be ashamed of yourself for the implication.

Need to overhaul the coaching staff mosdef... but I'm not so certain about D'Antoni. He spends too much time on defense. Half an hour is too much.

WTF? The coaching staff coaches the youngest team in the NBA to a record that is only one game under .500 and we get a question like this? Has Clutchfans BBS turned into some kind of bizarro world where good is bad, and bad is good? It's borderline miraculous that this extremely young team has already won eleven games at this point in the season.

Are you LOFs for real? This team isn't just one guy, you don't fire a coach mid-season a la Lakers. Running 7 seconds or less without an offseason would be suicidal.

Seriously guys, get the **** out of your delusion and wake the **** up.

    Nope.

I was surprised they fired Mike Brown 5 games in. I don't really believe in making switches in the middle of the year. Organizationally, Mr. Alexander, we've had the lowest coach turnover over his tenure, except in Utah. To see one fired 5 games in was surprising.

A couple years back Morey was touting how the Rockets organization don't fire their coaches (both JVG and Adelman were let go after their contract was done).

If McHale leaves before his contract is up, it will be his decision IMO.

By my count the Rockets roster contains just 1 player, Harden, who would start on most of the top 8 Western conference teams. The Rockets roster has 2 players, Parsons and Asik, who might be able to start on one of the top 8 Western conference teams. Does that sound like a winning roster to anyone here? If it does to you then reigning in your homerism needs to take top priority.

Can't fire McHale mid-season. Can't do that to the guy and moreoever, just don't see it happening. I don't think it would accomplish much either. If anything this team needs one week together to just practice, not a coaching change. Enough upheaval as it is this year - soon to be more w/ the trade deadline approaching.

Not to mention, that only 4 players were even on the roster last season & the teams primary play-maker/scorer did not even have a training camp with the team.

You can't fire the coach after a quarter of a season when there was that much roster turnover (unless you're the Lakers).

I like the job McHale is doing. It's a young team and is going to take some time.

Rockets won't take on that much bad PR while trying to get a max player and some vets here

um ...yeah. I'm with you bro. I can't figure out why everyone thinks the coaches have done a bad job. I'll agree that they haven't solved the Lin-Harden backcourt quandry, but we are def. playing above expectations. Before the season started, if someone told me we'd be about 500, 25 games in, i would have been very happy with that.

I still have some reservations about McHale. I'm def. no sold on the guy yet. But if you are gonna start the "Fire McHale" chant, then it ought to be done on the basis of him failing or not achieving. Right now, it's pretty clear that the team is playing above expectations, and we do indeed have a shot at sneaking into the playoffs. That's grounds for congratulations, not firing.

My question is....who the heck do ya'll expect to coach this team?? Adelman got us to the playoffs once, and that was with a pretty stacked squad! We would've made the playoffs last year, but the PLAYERS, not the coaches...sucked it up and did not perform. I'm getting so tired of hearing crap about our coaching staff. Don't you people understand that as long as we continue altering stuff on this team (players, coaching staff, etc...) we are going to always suck?!?! There's no stability and that's the worse recipe for a team.

The Spurs have had Popabich since the Dinosaurs roamed the Earth and have gone to the playoffs every single time with their dinosaur players.

The Lakers had Phil Jackson for the longest and voila!!!! - Some championships to go along with it...Many people forget the Lakers sucked a** when Kobe was young.

The Jazz, although no recent championships, kept the Grinch (Jerry Sloan) and boom: a lot of consistent playoff appearances.

OKC Thunder (same)....Memphis Grizzlies (same)....yeah ya'll get the picture.

Now look at all the teams that suck in the NBA (Wizards, Bobcats, Kings....etc etc) Tell me why they suck?? Too much staff and player turnover and no consistency. Looking for the quick fix rather than development.

Please stop with the Bi***ing....it's getting ridiculous. We have the youngest squad in the league with an average age of 24.1...we just beat the Celtics on national TV, have a Christmas day game, are one game under .500 and ya'll have the nerve to bi**h?!?! Pshhh, go watch Croquet...
