Harden drafted 3 overall. Lin went undrafted. Harden is a superstar/actual Allstar. Lin is not. Harden>Lin that's why. The problem was that quarter of a season last year that made Lin's expectations skyrocket
I'm not saying you're wrong, but using draft position to make your point is faulty. The whole point of Linsanity was that, based on objective information, Lin SHOULD have been drafted much earlier, and there was repeated, tangible discrimination against him based on his race and the college that he went to.
exactly. i would expect more from harden and give lin a break. but instead harden gets a free pass and lin is crucified. double standard.
Kwane Brown was drafted #1.....I'm sure one on one Harden is definitely > Lin. However, we won't know the true impact of each players until years from now....as basketball is a team sport.
Yes I know the draft thing was a bad case for me to say, just meant to say he was thought higher of. In the future I still think Harden>>Lin
he IS thought higher of and so should be held to a higher standard. the problem is that he isnt held accountable for anything! his defense is ridiculous. he obviously doesnt play hard d because he doesnt want fouls and wants to stay in the game to be "the man". this is such crap. he hasnt even shot well. he gets tons of points off eurostep fouls. in the playoffs, if they ever get there, the best defenses will shut him down every single time. at the end of games, in crunch time, refs arent going to call fouls on that eurostep. he needs to shoot and sink baskets the old fashioned way. why is lebron/kobe/durant elite? because they can dagger you with their shot, not just drawing fouls...
NBA is currently showing replay of Knicks (w/Lin) vs Mavs (w/Kidd). Preview for tomorrow's game, I guess.
to be fair, I would think this may be the instruction of the coaches that avoid him to get into foul trouble. I don't think Harden is such a selfish player.
i refuse to believe that any coach would ever tell a player to not play d. its clearly a lack of effort and accountability.
 +1 I believe Harden is the Chosen one! So he will not lower himself to the level of any role players to do any dirty job on the court. His only duty is about scoring.
Type raba what game are you watching and have you only been following basketball since Lin was in NYC? James harden is 5th in scoring and he highest assist avg in the league for all sg. Yes his defense can get much better but by you saying our best player who is a legit superstar/Allstar is garbage and he's gonna get shut down by good teams shows you kno next to nothing about basketball. What about your boyfriend jermey Lin who gets shut out every game? Lins not a good defender either he's giving up 2 triple doubles in one week and rondo damn near made it 3. Ohh and one was to Jose Calderon who's a backup. Iv been backing Lin all season but now I'm over it dude def has a role in the nba but I'm starting to doubt that he's a long term starting option on a good team. Harden drawing fouls is a good thing your an idiot he gets to the line like 9.5 times a game that's almost an extra 10 points every game off being aggressive something Lin doesn't do. I'm over Lin because of his fans who don't give a rats ass about the team. Ohh and his garbage play every game doesn't help either.
I have a hard time believing lin works out with the rockets, the way the rockets are currently configured. McHale seems at best, lukewarm to the concept of lin having a major role on this team, and sampson often seems completely dismissive or even actively hostile towards lin. Lin seems disinterested and unenthused. He knows he's not going to be utilized in a way which allows him to play to his strengths. It would be best for both parties to simply move on. Lin has few allies in the organization. It seems only Les was enthused about bringing lin to the rockets. Morey simply did as he was told, mchale could care less, and sampson actively favors douglas, for whatever odd reason. It's only a matter of time before lin moves on, whether it's this season or in the offseason. As far as I'm concerned, lin is no longer a rocket. He is on the payroll, but he is not with them in spirit.
Wow, your judgement of if a player is good defender is to see how much his opponent has scored on him. By the same token, Lin scored 38 on Tony Parker. Does that mean Tony Parker is a trash defender? Kobe scores 30+ almost every game. Does that mean every player who defended Kobe in those games are all trash defenders? It's OK you don't think Lin is good enough. But to call him garbage will only make you lose your credibility.
Lin is not a fluke. He's obviously much better than what we are getting from him. Problem is that he is struggling mightily to adjust to the current situation. Problem is that he is used to a larger role and now he doesn't like his role obviously. When a year ago he'd have been psyched to be here. I think the coaching staff has decided that one way or the other, they will make him adjust. At some point he has to. Personally, I still think he needs to be a lot more aggressive. 32 minutes and not a single free throw????
harden looks great if you only look at the box score. watch the games and you can see that this style of play is not championship material. watch the OKC game. where was the 5th in scoring that game? i never said he was garbage. the offense which he plays in is garbage. how can you predicate your offense on trying to get fouls? good defenses will not foul you, they just make you look like crap. OKC game again? again. when he is doubled early and high, he is useless. they wont foul him, just trap him and force him to give up the ball. where is his game then? kobe/lebron/KD can hurt you in other ways. harden? no eurostep, no bueno....
