Delfino needs to stop driving to the basket and handling the ball. Nor should he play hero-ball a la Kobe. Guy needs to just post up at the line and wait for the open look.

And you are going to have the NBAs premier 3 point or at the rim basketball player running around screens? Oh, you want someone else out there with the ball in their hands at the 3 point line? What a complete waste.

And that will certainly happen every time Harden is out there on an island by himself. If 2 other Rockets don't have decent games and become offensive threats the Rockets will lose. Only LBJ can do it himself.

reggie miller made a career out of running around. its not a bad idea when all harden does is get the ball up high. just double him right away and he is a non factor. he doesnt post so he needs other ways to get the ball. for someone so athletic, you'd think they can design plays where he cuts to the rim no? very early on he had a few dunks off baseline cuts. where did this play go?

I do not think you are understanding. Harden running around screens will just diminish the Rockets as a team. PGs who can hit the 3 are a dime a dozen. Lin is not necessary. The offense initiates with Harden at the 3 point line for a very good reason. He was 1.56 PPP tonight which is phenomenal.

Oh, and Reggie Miller only had Hardens first step in his dreams, Completely different talents.

So what you are trying to do is convert Harden into Kevin Martin. LOL

I don't think our role players shoot too much, they just don't shoot well enough. As our team continues to be rebuilt, we will probably acquire better role players. For the time being, it is what it is. For this team to be one game under .500 is remarkable.

i simply disagree. let me see him score with a constant double team like OKC did to him and then we can talk. kobe/lebron/durant/melo can still be a factor because they can always post. harden cant.

I simply do not understand your position. You want to take away Hardens greatest strength and convert him into Kevin Martin? Wow. I truly believe if the Rockets players are not efficient with Harden they will be gone. Via Morey.

Posting for a SG is not a requirement. It isn't even a luxury. Not when you can drive to the hoop and pick up 13 free throws a game.

I think we don't execute well enough. Not enough ball movement that Rick Adelman brought. One pass shoot. Drive then pass shoot. pNRoll shoot. Nobody is cutting, we have no post or post passer, the stagnant offense is stagnant.

I agree, and I've heard McHale say that we are not getting enough ball movement, so I think the coaches are seeing the same things we are. At times it looks like our guys are really struggling and not on the same page, but I expect this from a team this young. Today on defense, it looked we had guys that were just lost out there, but once again I expect this. Every single team the Rockets play this year is going to have players with more experience than the Rockets, so I try to keep that in mind when we are playing poorly. I'm sure McHale would say that the offense and defense that we are seeing from the Rockets right now is still far from what he envisions for this team.

I like Delfino but he needs to be a catch & shoot guy and limit the fancy step backs and fades its not working for him it always looks like he forcing those.

no. im just saying some movement off the ball would be nice. he's way too easy to shut down if you double him early and often. im actually surprised he doesnt get doubled more often after OKC completely exposed the rocket's offense.

posting for a SG is not required, but for a superstar? or for a ring? how can you drive to the rim if you get doubled early up top? how? how can you guarantee a foul will be called? do you really think they will give harden the foul in the closing seconds of game 7? he needs to shoot the ball and be great at that. besides what happens if you get injured or get old? you lose that first step. but old man kobe showing us that shooting never goes out of style...

He is much harder to defend if the opponent cannot sag off of the other perimeter players. Which is the Rockets biggest problem. To few outside shooters. I do not see anytime in the next 5 years that the offense does not start with an isolation of Harden at the 3 point line. It is much to effective. And maybe my memory is failing me but I cannot envision Pierce, Wade or Kobe going for a post up offense. It is just the way that shooting guards work in the NBA.

the rox need more easy baskets, not more outside shooting. when the going gets tough, you pound the paint and go for easy transition baskets. by post up i also mean back to the basket iso. kobe can kill you all day like that. harden? he cant. that's a glaring hole in his game. as a superstar first option he has to find a way to score when things are tough. he hasnt shown that he can be a factor against the double. also lets not forget how he did in the finals when it really mattered. was that a fluke or just inherent? $80M question huh?
