You are right he just doesn't have that instinct whereas others do. I don't know if he can ever pick up that instinct. But it isn't just his rebounding though. Getting out hustled by f**king bargnani who is soft as hell, establishing post position at the 3 point line & then just randomly chucking the ball in the air, having a clear lane to dunk the ball & hesitating for a second before deciding oh s*it let me make a strong move, refusing to set screens. Like ughhh it's so frustrating to see at times. Our entire front court is frustrating because nobody fears them offensively like at all. Parsons gets his shots blocked on the regular, Asik doesn't scare anybody offensively (but on D he embarrasses fools) & Patt is patt. That is why they are frequently left wide open & defenses focus on harden & lin. I was watching Steve Nash Amare highlights & my god people s*it there pants against Amare when he was younger. That is the type of player the Rockets need, somebody who opposing bigs will have to fear.
I was talking about our front court not our back court so I don't understand why would think I was criticizing anybody for not being Nash. And I wasn't really criticizing anybody in our front court for not being Amare either. I just said that I wished opposing teams feared them. Just a few thoughts.
Rockets badly need a big who can finish and they have the cap room to do it. Lin probably averaged at least 2 alley-oops a game last year and probably would be double digit assists this year witha good finisher.
We do Smith, Morris, D-Mo, and Jones all can "finish". They need the playing time to do so. Patterson playing time is to up his trade value NOT because he is the "best" power forward on the team.
Excuse me but our starting PF is averaging 5 rebounds a game, that's terrible. Parsons who is our SF has to rebound for Patterson. Plus, Patrick is a decent mid range jump shooter but he is not consistent with it like other PFs. The one where Patrick got an AND1 when driving in is rare on his part. Yes, he made a nice and1 but most of the time, he continues taking mid range jump shots. You can sit there and believe that he's doing great with his mid range but our starting PF is supposed to be more aggressive. There are plenty of times where he continues to take wide open mid range shots and keep missing them at crucial moment even though he can easily go in and draw a foul.
Isn't the PF supposed to rebound too? Our SF has to rebound instead of leaking out (even though our SF Chandler Parsons has the ability to run the fast break to finish on transition or make a good pass) because our PF can't rebound!!! So you are putting the rebounding responsibility on Parsons but not on our PF Patterson? Even though Parsons does rebounds and he does it well, much better than Patterson does. So stop blaming Parsons for Patrick's inability to rebound the ball. If Patterson can rebound the ball, Parsons doesn't have to worry as much on rebounding and leak out for a fast break.
C, PF, and SF have to rebound. It is all of their responsibilities. SF are not supposed to leak out . If only your C and PF rebound the ball, you will have serious rebounding issues. If you want Parsons to leak out, he will have to move to SG, where rebounding is not as pertinent. I am not blaming Parsons for anything... I love how he plays. I don't know where you got that from. And if they outlet the ball fast enough, Parsons can still leak out for the break.
My dog farted this morning and we lost. Sorry that my dog farted. We lost 12 games this season. How many games did Patterson miss?
Patterson was really missed today. His rotational defense and close out on shooters. Hey but atleast our PF got more rebounds and our SF less like its supposed to be right?!!? Hopefully this is the start of people actually appreciating what Patterson brings to the team.
Charles Barkley would have been a beast if he was the same height as Patterson. Probably would have averaged just as many rebounds as (possibly more than) Rodman.
