I expected that. Coming out of training camp McHale said Jones was the closest to being ready to play NBA ball. Now if they bring back D-Mo that would be interesting, especially since it looks like they want D-Mo to play at the center position.

I would expect Morris to get the start. It will be interesting to see if TJones gets some minutes.

On 790 yesterday, Lance Zierlein mentioned that he was hearing rave reviews about Terrence Jones and to not be surprised to see him in the rotation soon. Charlie asked him at the expense of who, Lance said Patterson.
Wonder if there is more to this or a possible trade in the works?

Jones can be sent down as many times as Rockets want.

Morris will be starting and I think Jones will show his worth for the future. He's obviously still a little raw but nothing better than some PT to get someone NBA ready! Show them what you got Jones!

Terrible time for an injury. Knocks down PPat's trade value. If TJones plays well, they'll be asking for him instead of PPat in trades. Which means Morey won't be able to move PPat out.

Yeah I heard that too while I was in my truck. Too add to that, he also said that he heard that Jones was having moments in practice where he was "taking over the game" similar to what Carl Landry used to do in practice when he was here. I was very excited to hear him say that.

Funny you should say that. I've been having the feeling all along that they were trying to showcase Patterson and Morris and let them pad their stats to increase trade value as well as hiding T. Jones and D-Mo to keep them from showing too much with the hopes of being able to hold on to one or both of them if a big trade ever comes up. Conspiracy theory? Yeah, but I refuse to believe that Patterson and Morris are outplaying those other two guys in practice.

McHale plays who he thinks will help him win. It's that simple.

I agree with that. Sure, many can disagree with McHale's decisions, but I don't doubt that he's doing what he believes will win games. There is no "hidden agenda' going on in that regard. Not in my opinion, although some here probably think that there is more going on than simply trying to win games.

How in the hell did Patrick get that bone bruise? I didn't see anything happen last night.

I will say this, I do believe that McHale is trying to win games. That is obvious or else Douglas and Delfino would never see a minute of playing time. I think that Patterson and Morris have tenure and they have a little more experience in the system which gives them a leg up. I believe that coach is doing the right thing by giving those guys the chance to play and to either keep or lose their places in the rotation based on performance. You don't really know for sure what you have in either of those guys without giving them the minutes to succeed or fail. I think I've seen enough of Patterson to have an idea of what he is. Morris is still a question mark in my opinion. That said, I do think Jones and D-Mo are going to be better players in the future and showcasing players you would prefer to part with for trades is not a new idea. It certainly happens. I honestly don't think Patterson and Morris could be consistently outplaying those guys in practice situations based on what I've seen of all 4 of those guys so far.

Watching D-Mo in the D-League, I don't think he will ever be able to guard NBA 4/5. Time to start developing him as a bigger Durant. 7-foot Rocket small forward!

The offense we run is catered more toward a guy like Marcus Morris than Patrick Patterson.
