Toronto says no. Calderon is worth far more than Derrick Williams. You'll undoubtedly see for yourself when he's traded for more than Derrick Williams. ;)

Oooo I found another article about Henderson. He is totally on the trading block.

Makes sense. If they have no intention of matching him in the off-season, then they might as well move him to a team that would welcome having his services for the rest of the season and his Bird rights should that new team wish to lock him in themselves.

I think he is too, but with a 10 million dollar contract and with the current landscape (where there are a lot of quality point guards) the Raptors might not be able to get proper value.

Plus, the Raptors have one of the more incompetent FOs in the league.

Good points. Nothing is impossible when it comes to the decision-making of the Toronto Raptors' front office. There is a non-zero chance Calderon is traded away for what turns out to be garbage and then he flourishes on another team.

I like the Calderon to Utah idea, but i wouldn't do it if I were any of those 3 teams. Pretty cool for the Rockets, if they are trying to make the playoffs. Jazz and Sota lose on assets. I'd like it for Toronto if they didn't have so many PFs; maybe they'd do it if/when they resign to tanking for the top 3 pick...

Yeah, I actually built this trade on the idea of Calderon going to Utah (since the Jazz are supposedly looking for a point guard and trying to get rid of Jefferson and Millsap). I figured Toronto wouldn't want either guy, so I played around and ended up with that.

Maybe Toronto should just do something like Calderon+Davis for Millsap (+Raja Bell or something). Not sure if Houston can fit in there somewhere.
If those Pau rumors are true, Toronto probably still doesn't want to tank. Millsap would make them respectable.

Houston trades: Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin
    Houston receives: Dwight Howard

Lakers trade: Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol
Lakers receive: Jeremy Lin, Omer Asik, and Amar'e Stoudemire

    Knicks trade: Amar'e Stoudemire
    Knicks receive: Pau Gasol

That should leave the Rockets with roughly 4.7 million in cap space. After that, target a point guard that can shoot and play off of Harden if necessary. Perhaps Mo Williams or Aaron Brooks.

If we still had Livingston I would be fine with this.

I don't care who's on the roster if you can trade anyone not named Harden and get back Dwight you do it.

And then Dwight leaves after this season ends and goes sign somewhere else. Have we learned nothing from Dwightmare? He's looking for a large media market to build his brand. He prioritizes that over winning. He'll re-sign in LA. If he gets traded to Houston, he won't be staying. Have you seen all the empty seats in the Toyota Center? No way that he stays here even if he gets traded here.

    It's worth the risk imo.

    Random PG/

    Harden

    Parsons

    PPat/Mook

    Dwight/Greg Smith

That line-up is on the edge of contention.

And what do you do next season when you have no Dwight and lost all those assets you traded for him? Parsons is the most attractive asset Houston has due to the contract, so he's probably gone in the trade. Lin/Asik gone too since you may well need them to make up the equal salary and value. Dwight isn't going to get traded here for cheap. And when he leaves this offseason, you're out a Dwight and a ton of assets that will set back the Rocket's rebuilding effort. There's a reason Morey wasn't willing to raise his offering to Orlando and stood pat. There's too large a risk of him leaving. He's pretty much out and told Houston he's not staying.

Houston is not in Dwight's plans, especially when you look at the rest of the stuff he's been doing in his career, like those movie cameos and such. He wants a spotlight and will move to a big media city, rather than be on a contender if he had to choose between the two. LA gives him both. If the Lakers don't want him, I'm sure he can find somewhere else to sign like the Clippers with CP3 or something. He'll land somewhere, but not Houston. The empty seats in the Toyota Center don't fit Dwight's masterplan of building his brand, movie roles, and endorsements over winning.

The Lakers would never ever do this trade.

The 76ers are reportedly looking for a center, but I think they wanted to do better than Cole Aldrich hehehehe

How about we trade for Bargnani? I think he will flourish under a new environment and a system. The raptors will never get good with any players imo.

We can send one or two of our pfs and an add in for him.

So you're saying Kevin Love = Harden, Millsap and Aldrich? Wow. If thats the case then I'd rather develop our young PFs.

I think Utah is getting a fair deal here. They get to unload Raja Bell and get value for Millsap. TD and Cook could help their backcourt a lot.
