You got that backwards son. Jocar was here before Lin. You weren't. So if Lin leaves Houston, you will leave, and Jocar will still be a fan of this team. Big difference there.

As a Knicks fan I've come here to follow Lin and I've learned to like this team and I want the team to do well. I've been silent and try to ignore the posts from the so called real Rockets fans flaming LOF.
Yes some are unreasonable but they're still some who also want the team and Lin to do well. Yes he has not been playing consistently well but one has to ask oneself the question why the LOF are reacting to the Lin is a scrub thread, oh I miss Lowry and Dragic or trade Lin for Lillard in the heart beat?
They are now just upset by the utilization of Lin by the coaching staff. I am patient and really want this team to do well and I am just atonished by the constant benching of Lin for Douglas when he was playing well.

Anyway, I just hope that they get it together.

Well I meant as a fan of the team in general. You obviously are not that which means you wont have much interests in a Rockets fansite if Jeremy Lin is not on the team, much less a thread within the fansite. So I would say it is much more probable that Jocar will be viewing a thread on a Rockets fansite if Jeremy Lin is not on this team. So spare us all, and go ahead and create a Jeremy Lin fansite instead of filling up this one with your bone headed comments towards a respected poster.

I think that Jeremy Lin might be traded.
Jeremy Lin & Asik + 1 more for Dwight Howard + Chris Duhon

Great. Im glad Lin brings in fans from other communities, but I just dont want them to be surprised when they get flamed for calling for the head of our coach and front office when the team is winning just because their guy isn't putting up the stats they would like him to.

Its embarrassing to the fan community to have that kind of attitude. As long as the fans know that winning comes first, all will be well.

Whachu smokin? What team would cut a guy and then resign him to 25 million contract and then trade him? Highly unlikely.

I know some of you guys keep saying that Lin got to be aggressive or got to handle the ball...etc. But the truth is right in front of us. According to Mchale, in the 4th quarter Douglas was playing really well that he decided to leave Lin on the bench. So I went back and watched the 4th again and I finally realized what Mchale expects from Lin.

    1) Scoring? No. Douglas got 1 fast break layup around 10 min mark. I am not counting the 7pts under 3 min because by that time the decision of benching has already been made.
    2) Shooting? No. Douglas took one shot with Terry on his face which he missed.
    3) Assists? Hell No. Douglas had 0. Douglas didn't even attack the basket or even try to run Pnr. The only time he tried he lost the ball but jumped on it and called timeout.
    4) Rebounds? No. He had 0 during this time frame.
    5) Defense? No. He was guarding Terry, which was pretty much spacing and waiting to catch and shoot, but douglas kept waving his arms when Terry had the ball.
    6) Running Offense? No. He brought the ball every time and handed to Harden, Parsons, Delfino and once to Morris.

So what did he do so well?
    1) He stood in front of his guy waving his arms on defense.
    2) He brought the ball up quick and handed the ball and went to the corner and let others create. (Parsons and Delfino and later Harden)
    3) He stayed away from Harden in the corner when he came in around 6 min mark.

So what exactly he meant by playing really well?
Mchale expects his PG to bring the ball fast and hand it to Harden. Don't try to create (being sticky) unless you are Harden. Move away to the corner by creating more space for the guy with the ball. And occasionally, hit some 3pt when the ball get to you. On defense, stay in front of your guy and move your arms( steals and rebounds help by not a must).

More often than not, people's hunch/feeling turns out to be true. People can say whatever about the passionate LOF fans, but LOFs proved to be right about the coach Woodson before. And they might very well turn out to be true again.

A quarter of the season already passed and Harden and Lin played more than 20 games. If by now the coaching stuff still hasn't show any signs of they know how to use Lin, then most likely than not, they will never figure it out. Some say it's all because McHale just came back. But even during his absence, he was constantly in touch with Sampsons and watched all the games. So saying that he hasn't known enough about the team/players is just absurd. Plus, I highly doubt McHale makes all his coaching decision on his own without Samposn's suggestions/ideas/thoughts and Sampson has been always there from day one.

Morey has never fired any coaches before and he will not fire McHale either. Morey will not trade Lin this season simply because he seems willing to give Harden/Lin experiment a little more time (or if only for the sake of not eating all his own words promised to Lin and in those intervews ;))

My bet is Lin will be gone, sooner or later, either by not resigning with the Rox or by trade (if Morey ever find a way to trade him next season or Lin's third year).

Nothing wrong with liking a player. As long as you remember this is a HOUSTON ROCKETS forum and that Lin is just another player on the team as far as Rockets fans are concerned. Being a Lin's fan before you became a Rockets fan, I fully expect some situations where you would instinctively put Lin above the team and I don't mind it. As long as you don't voice those frustrations like some of the more stereotypical LOF (and TOF/YOF of the past) then you will be A-OK with most of us. Basically, people can like Lin more than Rockets, just don't voice it here.

lakers fan here, (sorry) just had the urge to register because of whats been going on w lin.
been following him since last year, and i like the whole underdog story of his. just wanna say to the lin fans, think of what's happening to him as part of a movie or basically a chapter in his career where he's going against new odds and challenges. there will be ups and a lot of downs, a lot of them. this is just to make the ending sweeter.

remember, as with feel-good underdog stories, he will rise in the end and prove everyone wrong again. i really feel the kid has what it takes to be a star in this league, my 2 cents and based on the things that he has been doing if given a chance.

ps: thanks for torching the spurs (still a loss, but dang, their forum thread was funny as heck to follow *especially how they've mentioned just before the game how their defense has improved considerably, and how they were gonna make lin score 0 points*

    cheers

If the Rockets got DH12, they would.
They suggested it before the game last night LOL, and I was thinking about it, it might go through.

Houston needs a post up option in the middle of the lane, unless they develop Greg Smith more, which he has been a highlight when he has some playing time.
James Harden is a ball dependent 2 guard, and needs a good defensive and spot up PG. I see Tdouglas getting more PT because his style of PG goes directly with James Harden, Rockets #1 option.

Lakers, they get a defensive center in Asik, and a ball dependent PG in Lin in the Pringles offense.

Just give it a whirl, it could be more of a reality if Laker's keep struggling and look for a quick fix.

Yesterday was the first day new signed players maybe traded & its not the first time this trade has been brought up.
