I do not know why Lin becomes a passive puppy with harden on the floor too often.
He is not showing the aggresiveness needed. The goal is to win the game. Douglas has racked up 50% plus shooting this week. Ball don't lie. The Rockets did in the forth qrt. exactly what Clyde Drexler hollars about. (The one statement that I can fully endourse from our crazy wacky little broadcast team. : ) "Keep the scoreboard moving..."

Its not how many, it's how aggressive he is in looking for his shot. Right now he's not even trying to score.

I'd rather see Lin go 5-16 than go 2-4.

I don't know much about Mchales coaching style. Right now it seems rather primitive.

    I am not a fan.

Agree. Teams are just letting him too the 3 and staying back on him. He needs to prove he can hit an outside shot consistently before the defense opens up more. Being passive and not shooting hinders his development more than McHale benching him.

Lin was struggling in the preseason and the first few games of the season. IMO, he hasn't been struggling recently. Even in yesterday's game...if he hadn't been benched for so long he probably would have ended up w/ a pretty decent game. I guess we will never know. This is where the frustration is coming from. It's not that the LOFs have some desire for him to be the franchise player. If he were struggling so badly or was a liability on defense...fine, I can understand that. But, benching Lin just because McFail and his crew think there is a better flow with TD??? WTF is that?

ALso, if Lin took 16 shots a game, do you think Sampson and Mchale will not be in his ear and bench him? I'm pretty sure that will be the result.

McFail pissed off and drove Lowry away and he is doing that to Lin as well now. F**ing stupid coaching team. fire them all already!

It's not just Lin. Asik and 2Pat are also starters that often don't get their minutes. Harden is the only guy who can count on his minutes every night. McHale basically treats the team as Harden, the superstar, along with 4 other guys. The rotations are whimsical. Personally, I think it's a bad way to handle rotations and it's short-sighted, but we're .500 right now, so we'll see. What it does show is that they really don't have a plan or a vision of how all this comes together. It's haphazard.

It's called Mchale's "feels like it flows better somehow can't put my finger on it" strategy

If these 4 other guys can produce at Harden's level, then McHale would be playing them all 35+mpg. And the Rockets would be favorites to win the championship this season.

But alas, they're not nearly that good. :(

Considering we didn't have any idea Harden was going to be a Rocket when Dragic left, this "McHale was angry because Dragic would be perfect with Harden" theory is interesting.

You're not a Rockets fan. You're a Lin fan. I'm sure he has a fan-site somewhere that you can cheer for him

The Coaches wanted Hardin to run the point and play iso if he wanted to in the 4th...if they're going to go down, they've chosen to go down shooting with James.

So I can understand Douglas being in there in the 4th. He's a confident 3-pt shooter and shoots 43% from the 3 while Lin is at 30%. What I'm confused about is why Delfino was in there when he's been ice cold lately. I think Jeremy should have been in there rather than him. BTW, Carlos shoots 34% from field vs Jeremy at 39%. Lin also grabs more rebounds than Carlos.

I agree. If the final minutes is going to be all Harden, it almost doesn't matter who plays SG beside him.

The early 4th quarter had Delfino and TD as the backcourt, and it looked like a mess. The only bright spot was Smith -- and that had little to do with backcourt out there. Delfino had 2 turnovers in the fourth quarter alone, and he only played like half of it. (He also plays awful defense, and it's not for lack of effort; he just doesn't really know how.) Rotations like this, which have neither Harden nor Lin, are completely baffling.

SMH.... knee jerk jerks go jerk off or something. Give the team AND coaching staff a chance to figure things out... jeezus, you guys are annoying. It's still early in the season and a good time to experiment. They ain't goin' no where this season.

These are not the Lakers, where there is an expectation with their SUPERSTARS. We don't even have one superstar. Harden is on his way, but not yet. He's playing like one, but he needs a full season as an elite level starter first.

Trading for Lin is like trading for Tebow. The fans just aren't worth Lin's production on the floor. So many asinine comments from LoF in this thread.

How are you guys criticizing mchale for lasst game? I think he did a great job. So what if your favourite players didnt play in the fourth. We won the game and douglas played great down the stretch. Why change that?

People are acting like lin was completely outplaying his backup and thatr douglas has been struggling. In fact, douglas has been shooting greatr lately and has a number of times, contributed to iwns down the stretch.

In response to your other post on why harden gets more minutes than other starters. While first he is our best player and is able to change the game at any moment. Second the players you listed like pat and lin arent on his level (these players get good minutes in the game anyway).

this. everyone is so nuts. give it some time. even the coaches said they're still trying to figure it out. did any of you actually think the rox would be far above a 500 ball club this year?

agree. i mean, lin played a good game...solid D on rondo, got people involved. still a little loose on the handle, but not a bad game. TD been playing well, so just milk him. i guarantee LOFs are more disgruntled than lin himself.

win is a win. we can save the criticizing for losses. let's just enjoy this one please.
