Remember in the Mavs game he hits his threes in the first quarter gets benched. In the Celtics game after two attempts he hits a 3, makes his team-mates better & locks down Rondo he gets benched. Lin's shots don't fall he gets benched. Moral of the story Lin stays on the bench. LOL

Yes his shots were falling in the Spurs game but he was also getting 50% of the PNR plays as opposed to the 30% he gets now. He was also shooting jumpers off the dribble & getting screens set as opposed to exclusively catch & shoots. All in all he was being put in a position to be successful, very big difference. But I do agree season is still early, & the entire team isn't out to black ball him people need to stop being sensationalistic & just making stuff up.

Yeah, there was nothing wrong with his play so we shouldn't be worried.

Mainly, I suppose I'm annoyed b/c unless he puts up decent stats, the haters will keep having a field day. But that's a pretty dumb reason for being unhappy b/c I should have the big picture in mind. Right now, Lin is very good at a few things, but he needs to become a more well-rounded player. And hopefully, that's what these struggles will help him achieve in the end.

I agree 100%. But this potentially devasting backcourt will never develop the way the coaching staff are doing it now. It's gonna end up with someone being traded or the coaching staff being gone next year. It's sad because if the coaching staff would just change their mindset, both results can be avoided.

Give Lin's work ethic, I guarantee you next year Lin will be a deadly shooter from downtown and he'll be able to go left with ease. Book it.

I totally agree with you I don't know everything that is going on. I am not a NBA coach after all. And the situation is a lot more complex than probably myself or any fan could comprehend.

But once again the coaches said they need to put the ball in Lins hands more. McHale also said that Lin would be placed on the left wing driving right & Harden on the right wing driving left for some both sided stuff. Wouldn't that be one of the easiest ways to have Lin be more aggressive maybe having him drive into the teeth of the defense with his dominant hand? But this has yet to happen why? It isn't like this is a hard thing to do. In the first two games Lin & Harden were set up like this but McHale went away from it.

Another thing is that Lin is a much better shooter off the dribble & off screens than he is spotting up. So wouldn't a great way to make him a threat from the perimeter & get him more aggressive would be to run a play that sets him up like that for a shot?

We are doing these things for Harden but we aren't doing these things for Lin? Oh wait correction. We did these things for Lin when Harden was hurt & only when he was hurt.

Just a few thoughts my friend.

All I can say is, you can't learn how to deal with the various situations you get in crunch time if you aren't out on the floor. This season is all about learning so that this young team can be successful in the future

I'm Asian, and a big fan of Lin.
I dont have a prob necessarily with ppl becoming "fans" of the NBA cuz of Lin, but don't pretend you're in the same stratosphere even amongst casual fans. Yall are still bandwagoners and when Lin doesnt get his way yall start accusations and pulling race cards.
Your sig alone describes perfectly the type of fans like you.

With that said, I def dont understand the (inconsistent) way they are handling Lin. I agree that sitting him early in the 1st against the Spurs helped fueled him, but too many times they have pulled him out the 4th quarter for long stretches if at all. I agree that TD is a LITTLE better on D and faster bringing the ball up (prob cuz he is playing against backups and ppl arent out to get him) and a better shooter and a complement to space the floor with Harden + Delfino, but Lin has proven that he can play good D and played VERY good D last night, and that he is a player that needs a lot of playing time and touches to get his confidence going. I have never seen a starting PG with background that he has (relatively consistent flashes of brilliance) being treated this way.

Nope coaches dont care for lin. If you saw the wiz game on a timeout sampson comes and immediately talks to harden and lin is standing around with no coaches talking to him. Uhh thats your pg, he should be getting coached in crunch time

Your statement is evasive. So how many shots he should take?

Thank you for the gif! Absolutely love it. Funny how none of that was mentioned in the game highlights. It's like whoever the announcer is in that game highlight did not want to mention the excellent defense played by JLin on Rondo. It's sweet to see Rondo got burned by JLin after Rondo boasted in Hong Kong that he would crush JLin when they met.

Lin is young and impatient.. That's why you see him in convulsions sittin on the bench because he wants to go at it right now.. This is just part of the learning curve for young players, give him time and he will fit into this Rocket System...

    Thanks!

Not sure if I like this block better or the block on Rose last year.

This one would make Rondo think twice next time before saying he'd beat the Rockets badly.

The one on Rose, well Rose was so pissed after the game that he got fined 25K by the league.

Lin really loves playing against elite point guards.

therein lies the rub. it's silly strategy from the pocket square offense.
Harden or lin should be handling when the other isn't, with some parsons to taste.

over 90 possessions in a game and I can't believe it's hard to figure it out when Jon Barry is basically pointing it out.

Coaching staff has no confidence in Lin. Salary is the only thing keeping Lin in the starting lineup right now. Last 5 games, Douglas and Lin averaged the same 28.6 minutes.

Lin better learn how to start shooting spot up 3's better than Douglas or he will be sitting more and more in the 4th quarter.

Oh I love this block even more. You can see Lin swat the ball hard to the right to where his teammates are. Good job, JLin. And big thanks to you, Holly1985!

I think the coaches should just leave it to the players to figure things out. Very poor coaching right now. Defense is still bad. Where is the game plan?
