Lakers will not want Lin, and definitely not for 25 million dollars. Nobody will be primary ball handler in LA except for Kobe himself. Kobe needs a back court partner, who can play defense to help him save energy, and shoot a high percentage spot up to spread the floor. Lin is the last person to fit that bill.

This 25 million dollars contract is too heavy for Lin, but Morey was desperate, and he willingly overpaid to fend away Knicks, so that he could have a PG to start the season. With that contract, if you are a Lin fan, you'd better not to hope for a trade, because he will only be traded to a small market bad team, to sell tickets. He can collect stats on a bad team being the Alpha Dog, but he will need to deal with heavy load and all the critics every single day, alone. It's not fair to a young player.

You've been a member since 2002 hence the "old timer" sentence. I'm glad you were excited that Jeremy was coming to Houston. I guess I was mistaken about you but It's also not accurate for you to say that I make "blanket negative statements about other members who root for the team". I make blanket statements about the numerous members who say Lin is "garbage", "a joke", "D leaguer", "should be traded", etc., etc. etc. I'm glad to hear you are not one of those.

You guys aren't getting the picture.

The Rockets won tonight... and they did it by playing Toney Douglas the whole 4th quarter.

What the hell are we complaining about?

The Lakers got Nash so Kobe could be the primary ball handler??

Answer this question truthfully - How many games last year did you watch Lin play? If you saw him play 10 games you wouldn't think $25 million was too much. You would think it was a steal.

Agree. I feel for him; but he has to get better. On the positive side, I think he will.

Tonight's win has little to do with TD.

I finally read through all the posts and most of them were not about the game but at each other. Lin played a pretty decent game. His block on Rondo's drive at the rim was great. I don't know why McHale never put him back in during the 4th quarter. smh.

    I'm happy we won.

I enjoy watching Lin play and was deprived of that enjoyment by him being benched for no good reason.

It's as simple as that - are you too dense to understand this?

Nash is a 2-time MVP, and he shoots 50%! Did you watch the first two games he played in Lakers jersey? Do you know what he did? He deferred to Kobe.

Speaking of Jeremy Lin, I watched every single game of him last season, and I even went to MSG to watch him, because I live in NYC!

Yes, I think 25 million is too much for Lin to handle, and it's not good for his development. If 25 million was a steal, Lin would have got more than 1 offer!

Love Lin all you want to, and I support him too, but be rational.

    I'm betting you're not.

In your numerous posts in this thread, how many times do you mention what a great job our other players did and how happy you were to get this win against a pretty tough Celtics team?

It's professional sport, and players get paid by millions. Being yelled at is part of their daily life. Lin is a grown up, and I am sure he can handle this.

I think 25 million is a bit too much for him, I agree with you. But didn't he get other offers? From Mavs and Raptors? They called his agent at the start of free agency anyway. Didn't get as far as Morey did, though. Maybe didn't offer as much $$.

Those aren't Lin fans, they are trolls that are pretending to be "fans" to rile everyone up.

Please don't fall for their trolling

So you didn't see the potential in the Spurs game? How many players have games like 38 points and 7 assists who make an average of 8 Million a year? Now I know you will say that is only 1 game and others will say it was only 25 games last year. Blah Blah Blah - doubters will always be doubters. Point is he has tremendous potential that should be exploited. Problem is our dumb ass coaches seem to be trying to squash him. So yeah Di'Antoni would be THRILLED to have Jeremy run his offense and he would thrive in it.

I think there was only one concrete offer, that was from Rockets. Knicks tried to low ball him, and talked about splitting the 5 million between him and Novak. They asked Lin to tread water in open market, while claiming to match anything to scare away potential interested teams. Morey called their bluff, and threw the poison pill at them. Here we are:)

I bet you didn't love coach D before he was forced to play Lin due to injuries of all the other PGs, right?

Nobody likes being yelled at. But that's so common in professional sports, you can't demand everything to be perfect and everyone is super nice. What's the big deal?

To all...as a dedicated LOF (yes I've flown a few times to NY just to watch him play...from California), my gripe is not about his play time but the incoherent subs that the coaches are doing. Your starters are esssentially your best players...they need to close out all close games.
