EXACTLY!!!!! During our back to back championships... Kenny Smith started and Sam Cassell finished.. Does that mean that Rudy T. hated Kenny? All of this because Lin didn't play in the 4th quarter. We are one of the youngest team in the league and so far we are ahead of schedule with the rebuilding process. But people are not happy about the upside, their pissed because Lin didn't get adequate playing time in the 4th period. Like Los stated... I don't care if Daffy Duck and Wiley Coyote are playing in the 4th as long as they win the game. T_Man
I'm not saying Lin has a problem with Mchale, Lin probably doesn't even care. I'm just saying if Lowry was in Lin's shoes, actually if most good PGs were in Lin's shoes they would be pissed and question Mchale the same way Lowry did. Just deal with the fact that Kevin Mchale is an ******* and wants Lin out of the league.
You're basing this off some incredible image of Lin. Outside of that singular SA game, he's shown nothing this season that inspires confidence to give him the ball. He's a PnR guard. One who doesn't finish at that and who can't shoot.
Outside of that SA game, he hasn't much to showcase his talents now has he? He hasn't had the ball enough now, has he? Lin is the same player he was last year, there is no injury problem or whatever bs you guys want to throw out there, this coaching staff is just so stupid and has no idea how the use him. They're probably blackballing him at this point.
Yet ppl are quick to point out Lin's stats this year as being subpar and are outraged that with his stats he would even be getting fan votes for the ASG.
They should trade Lin to the Lakers so he can become a primary ball handler....he's a better player than being cuffed every game under McFail. And also i don't think the Rockets can fire McFail even if he's coaching real bad. Even if he deserved to be fired...they could not fire him, you know why?? He just went through the tragedy...so he had a protection wall around him already. If it's up me, i will fire him and hire Mike D'Antoni (assume he got fired too lol). This man can free Lin and allow him to be creative and play up to his potential rather than the miserable passing and staying at the corner. It took Harden being injured for them to see how Lin thrive under an offense w/ no set plays. And yet knowing that, they still don't do a dmm thing about it. That's what i see out of the last 2 games since Harden came back...nothing changed. You never EVER in the history of game see a player dropping 38pts for one night and then reduced to 10 and 5pts the next. This is nothing but a system failure.
Including today's game: Rockets with Lin but no Harden on the floor has been -16 in 107 minutes (-7.2/48min). It is -12 in 65 minutes if we discard the recent SAS game (-8.9/48min). Rockets with Harden but no Lin on the floor has been +40 in 209 minutes (+9.2/48min).
Yes. No, he's had the ball plenty of times, even if Harden's the primary ball handler. He's sucked or terribly one-dimensional. No other guy is as disengaged on offense simply because of their jumpshot.
When is this? Lin is literally in the corner standing there half of the time because Harden is trying to be Cleveland Lebron be isolating and getting screens all the time. This team is going no where if they think Harden will be the Lebron.
The decision of not playing Lin in the 4th qtr when he has been performing at least not bad is puzzling for many even rational fans. Especially it's not the first time. Your guesses of the reasons maybe right or maybe not at all. We don't know. I agree with you that any conclusion at this time is too early. But when things are a bit odd, people tend to have a hunch or a feeling or the 6th sense of what is really going on. Sometimes the hunch turns out to be true. You can't deny that.
He makes poor decisions or executes poorly on the defensive end. Allen Iverson was never regarded as a good defensive player even though he collected all those steals and could block some shots too. AI had a greater ability than Lin to do these things too.
Going to get pulled into this ASG thing only once.... We all knew he was going to get votes for the ASG the same as Yao did when he was hurt. The fact is his fans are voting him and that's their right to do so. A lot of veteran guys on this board remember when you made the ASG based on your performance that year.... Not for things you did in the past and not for your popularity. The ASG is like a reality show.. it's entertainment for the fans, nothing like it was in the past. T_Man
No, you are insinuating there is some kind of problem brewing between Lin and McHale. Something is on your mind here, but you are afraid to come out and say it. The "McHale is an A-Hole" statement bears no weight if you can't back it up with something specific. You can debate the X's and O's of his gameplan if you want to. But just because he sat down YOUR favorite player in the fourth quarter and ended up WINNING against a very good team doesn't make him an A-Hole. If its his personality you have a problem with, then you must have had a problem with JVG when he was in Houston, or Popovich ... well always, Rick Carlisle, or Phil Jackson. Pretty much every head coach is a sarcastic A-Hole to the media. That's pretty much part of the job. McHale had a problem with one player last year, and that player doesn't necessarily have the greatest reputation of being the easiest person in the world to get along with himself. I just dont see this motivation you speak of to ruin one of his players NBA career for no apparent reason. So please, enlighten all of us with your theory.
You might just got what you want. Lakers are desperate for a PG, D'Antoni loves Lin, Gasol doesn't fit in D'Antoni's system; Rockets need to upgrade PF, and have problems putting Harden and Lin together. If D'Antoni pushed a little in L.A., they could easily have got some trade going.
Lin was perfect for this team before the Harden trade. I'm guessing that Lin, in his heart, doesn't accept being #2 to anybody, and only plays up to his potential when he is given the #1 role.
