Good to hear that. I wonder if the report about people coming out sick after seeing The Hobbit in 48FPS 3D is being blown out of proportion. Probably is because if you easily get sickness from a regular 24fps 3D you're going to get sick watching a passive/active 3D no matter what. Still I'm not a fan of the 48fps that make it look less cinematic and more like a documentary or too realistic it become fake so some reason.

Just got back from watching it in the 48FPS 3D. I'm not a fan of the "soap opera" look that is present on a lot of newer TV's with motion blur enabled, and I'm not really a fan of it in movies either. Some scenes looked really cool, but regular scenes where the characters are just walking or something had that strange smoothness to it that I feel gives it a very artificial look.

Very much enjoyed the movie anyways, but not a fan of the HFR.

For me I don't think it was the 48fps that gave me a headache, but the quick camera movements, spinning, jerking, and bouncing around. Much like the beginning of Saving Private Ryan on the beach when they were running and bouncing with the camera.

Saw it last night. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Right up there with LOTR for me. Felt like I was part of the adventure with Bilbo in Middle Earth.

I liked it better than Fellowship. I give it an 8.8/10

The Hobbit I think tries way too hard at times to be LOTR. Trying to reclaim your home and gold is not quite as epic as....you know...saving all of Middle Earth. So it's a bit of a mixed bag for me. I wish Jackson would have just kept it at one movie instead of stretching it to three. And I wish he would have approached the material from a difference angle than almost the exact same one he did for the first trilogy.

Watched it last night. I wasn't expecting much, I just wanted to be entertained and I was. Some parts were too long and the movie shouldn't have been more than two hours long. I enjoyed the comedy sprinkled throughout the movie. I didn't watch it in 3. I love 3d movies but in this case I don't think it would have added anything to the experience.

I was feeling a little queasy at the beginning and was thinking it might've been due to the quick camera movements but later on I didn't have a problem with those. I think the the brain just needs some time processing something like this.

The one movie that really made me sick trying to watch it was United 93, the movie about the 911. It was shot with hand held cameras and there were a lot of shots of radar screens that were shaky and those were making me really queasy. I had to walk out twice just to let my eyes and brain adjust.

So if I was pre-adjusted to the 48fps, then that first action sequence wouldn't seem like it was played at 2x speed?

Before I went target shooting, I saw this around noon today. Enjoyed it. It felt lighter than fellowship which I enjoyed more... :)

Came no where near any of the LOTR movies but I still rally enjoyed it, but felt it like it was aimed for a much more younger audience than LOTR.

I've never seen any LOTR movies. Do I need to before watching this?

No, it's set before LOTR time-wise.

Nah, you can jump right in with this. See it in HFR. Game changer in cinema.
