you don't really get screwed when it comes to inspection. the computer will determine whether you pass or fail.
You should probably post where you're located and how far you're willing to drive. yeah, just stay close to the inspector and watch them. Unless they break something on your car on the spot, they can't really trick you.
This isn't exactly true. It's amazing how many people end up with "torn wiper blades" that cause the car to fail inspection, and how they'll replace them for $X on the spot so you can pass inspection. Not sayin' anything.... just sayin'....
My place pulled that on me once, I just went with it since they overlooked my check engine lights in the past.
damn, i live in a pretty shoddy neighborhood and dont' think i've ever had that kind of crap pulled on me. lol.
This is what I need. Damn check engine light is on and I don't feel like messing with it. I'ts probadly a bad sensor or something. I'm already two months past due. Any places with a "hook up".
Not true. I've had a car "fail" an inspection and of course they offered to repair it right there. Took it to two separate mechanics, who both wrote on paper that there was no issue. Took that to the shop that did the inspection and, after being shown the written testimony, was "shocked" and "fired" the dishonest mechanic and passed my car.
There's a place on Bissonnet called Mr. Sticker that I take mine to. All they do are inspections. They can replace windshield wipers and change the oil but past that, they're not equipped to do car repair so they're not going to tell you you need work done so they can increase their business. If something needs to be fixed before it will pass, they'll tell you to take it somewhere else or fix it yourself (if it's like a headlight) and bring it back.
Right. "What? He told you what? Oh that must have been Bob Dontreally Workhere, or perhaps it was John Beback Tomorrow, either way he is totally getting the boot for this"
highway 6 @ bellaire, there is a small shop does only state inspections off the highway. Some Asian guy, forget his name but been going there for years. usually no wait and he's fast.
