Harden gets the nod for sure. Lin unfortunately is a little suspect.... I wont be too mad though to get 2 All-Stars in Houston
I am. Look, good for him for proving all the doubters wrong, and just for the record, when I first saw him during the summer league his first year, I said he is going to be a very good back up that gets 24 minutes a game and should have at least been drafted early second round. But is he NOT an all star, sorry.
Allstar game isnt about who is the best, its about who is voted for the most. Every year idiots make the same pointless threads. What credibility is it losing? That more people voted for him so he got in?
So all of Lin's fans are Asian? What studies have you conducted to make this claim? Your argument implies that all or most of his votes came from Asia. Then I guess he should have over a billion Chines votes alone. I think it's safe to assume that there's a quite large nonasian Lin fanbase as well. But most importantly, the AllStar game is in Houston...You have 2 Houston players who will probably be on the AS team. NEWSFLASH: This tends to happen a lot.
Election is about popularity, even for the US president. Kobe and Rondo visited China, and Harden team up with Lin, if NBA want more votes or money, they should do the same things.
LOL you're delusional if you don't think Lin is in because of the Asian vote. It's not a coincidence that Lin and Yao dominate the votes, except Yao was actually at worst the second best at his position. Lin is barely in the top 30.
and please there are plenty of people on this forum telling us they are voting for their favorite player on the Rox everyday ... not named Lin or Harden thats their choice... like this game really matters... if they want this to be a real allstar game... they should be voting in guys who can play defense too
yes we all know whats going to happen... Lin wont get in because there is more than enough Asians voting for the big name players... and not enough Asians voting for the Lin Harden ticket... but although Harden is not going to get the votes... he will get a coaches nod because the game is in Houston...
I read an article during Linsanity that says Kobe is still even more popular in China than Lin is. So there could be some truth to this.
Lin getting into the All-Stars game this year will just further expose what a charade the game has become. He may not be the least deserving to make it, but he still should not be even remotely considered.
If he had better big men and better three point shooters around him, he'd be averaging 2-3 more assists per game (meaning 8-9).
All star is always about fan's favourite, not about who's really deserving. Linsanity name alone deserves All star treatment. Think about how many people start following NBA because of him.
This is Texas, son. If you ain't ethnic American (black, white, or Berryan-Obaman), you may as well be a Mexican in a turban.
They will likely put him in the skills competition he is way to popular & the games are in Houston he will represent. I totally respect your opinion but I frankly would love to see as many Rockets as possible. This whole idea of a player not deserving to be in a game that is all pomp & circumstance is laughable. Harden will definitely be there likely as a reserve. Lin's a rocket I would love to see him in the skills competition. I would also love to see Parsons participate in that shooting competition (where they have a team of 5 all shooting, not the 3 point contest). Parsons is a sophomore though so he could be in the Rookie Sophmore game maybe... Asik should do the dunk competition LULZ.
