Yes, the Knicks have never signed a terrible contract. Not Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry, Jared Jeffries or Amare's uninsured contract. $50 million for Lin would of ranked as one of the better front office moves they've made in the last 15 years.

YOu sir are a genius. Congrats you got the answer right.

Btw you cannot say that Knicks aren't better because of Felton and Kidd. Its just a given.

Why are Knicks better when another GM STOLE one of their young talents for absolutely nothing? Nada! Zilch! Not even a second round pick.

It's like someone stole your slim and hot gf, but you replaced her with someone much....BIGGER.

Are you better off today than before? Answer is in this vid....

D'Antoni, Amare, and Lin are all not good fits w/ Melo.

I think Amare coming back will hurt the Knicks more than help.

All that said, the Knicks are this good because a flip got switched sometime during the Olympics for Melo. He is working his ass off on both ends, and is looking like Syracuse Melo.

This is the Melo people were thinking was going to be there from day 1 when there were debates all over ESPN if he or Lebron were gonna be better.

Kidd is the perfect mentor for an uncontrollable chucker. He is the captain that tells everyone what to do. That's what the lakers need. Phil Jackson brings that intangible.

The Knicks can thank JLin for making the play-offs last season...period.

Lin not Melo was the Knicks MVP last season and it was not close.

Max or $50 million.. $50 mill would be too much for Lin.

The Knicks are better, yes. But not necessarily because Lin left. In a sense this true because they stocked their roster with older waning players that may be better than young untested talent for the moment. But looking to the future, I dont see one. Lin is someone that could have been around a while and gotten better over time and improved his game, while the majority of their players at present are getting worse and spending a lot of time on the disabled list.

Another poster stated before, the Knicks are the championship Mavs except Melo in place of Dirk. That's why they are better post-Lin. Amazing how Kidd is still a game changer this late in his career. HOF point guard for sure.

Better team this year because of better coaching. Woodson has had training camp and Dantoni is not a very flexible coach. Lin is an exciting player but he's at this time certainly not better than Felton.

Well, they wouldn't have to if they didn't sign Camby and Novak to a combined 3yr/$24mil contract. One that with luxury tax would go up pretty high.

So it's not a matter of paying Lin, it's a matter of paying other players over Lin.

Well Melo is playing like he cares. Last year under D'Antoni you could tell from his body language and playing that he simply wasn't hustling. He was just going through the motions and didn't really care.

This thread is stupid. People acting like Lin is the reason why Knicks sucks last year and because he's gone, then all of a sudden they're better. The Knicks are playing well this year is mostly because of Melo and the leadership of Kidd.

After the Olympics, Melo came back a better player because he learns from Lebron, KD and Kobe on how to be successful and play without being unselfish. Also, the Knicks are a 3 point shooting team. Everyone on their team just shoots threes and when they're hot, they can beat anyone. But it would be really hard to play against tough teams in the playoffs and relying on 3 pointers.

Again, the Knicks live and die by the three point line. So far this year, they are hitting their threes and they have been on fire. But its still early in the season and teams that usually live and die by the three, its really hard for them to be real contenders.

So Lin leaving the Knicks doesn't have anything to do with their success. Even if he's there, they would be the same team basically. The Knicks are a different team from last year. Stop bring up Lin and the Knicks, its pointless and annoying.

biggest reason knicks are better is cause of JKidd. Felton is playing SG out there half the time chucking shots.

That and Amare Stoudemire isn't there to get in Carmelo's way.

Knicks would be just as good right now if they had Lin over Felton. Kidd runs point anyway, Lin would have the freedom to put up 15+shots a game.
