Even if this first Ballot result is just the "?.. only fans" casting their votes early just based on popularity alone, and Lin doesn't end up making the squad, the NBA and Stern will find a way to get Jeremy Lin involved either way.

I most likely see Lin getting into the skills competition or the Shooting Stars competition. IMO, more people probably watch that Saturday Night event then the game itself on Sunday so yeah... whether or not he gets an invite to the game really doesn't matter to me.

I defenitely dont think Lin's had an All-Star type of season just yet(still lots of B-Ball left), but I wouldn't have a problem with him getting voted in if he's performing at the level he's at now with a couple more great games by the break in his belt.

-What does matter to me is James Harden getting not just the invite, but the resume builder that he deserves for his incredible season he's had so far, and gold star for the career he's already had in the NBA at such an early age already. He absolutely deserves the recognition, and to be amongst the elite of the elite in the NBA.

Never said Nash and Rubio are outplaying him. Alot of other guards are having a better season than Lin so far. (Westbrook, Mayo, Lawson) He was even ahead of Harden. Its just wrong to have him there.

LOL, you better stop watching TV and listening to music, etc because the masses dictate what you see and listen too.

who cares? I want as many Rockets in the all star game as possible, more exposure = more likely chance to attract another star.

Yeah, this was expected but it still stinks.

Lin wouldn't even make it to the Rising Stars game based on performance

It wouldn't do his career any good to be voted in, HE doesn't even want to be voted in. Lin would no doubt be the worst player ever in an all star game, imagine how that will kill his game from a mental aspect.

I didn't realize people like CP3 that much. He's almost as popular as Mrs. Paul.

You're missing my point....the all star game is a popularity vote and not the best player vote, although a lot of time the two do coincide. Hence, my argument about Rubio who hasn't played a game this season and Nash who has played one game. Get over it and stop creating useless threads. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

At least with Yao, he was always the best or second best center so he could get always with it. Lin is about the 28th best point guard. If he gets voted in, we're gonna see full court pressure in an all star game lol.

The All star game is basically a popularity deal, honestly to make the game more interesting I'd love to see passes made by Rubio and or Nash. Just sayin.

I'm not disappointed. The Div-1 colleges didn't think he wasn't good enough to get a scholarship. The NBA teams didn't think he wasn't good enough to get drafted. He's consistently having to prove people wrong. Now the fans believe in him and many here are asking to put an end to it. I don't understand why there's this need of protecting him as fans have put it. If I'm the Rocket's organization I couldn't be happier, he's getting the popularity from the fans. I'm embracing this and I hope Lin takes this as the encouragement he needs (like in NY) to start playing his game and showing the fans they're right. I'd like to see him again rise to the challenge and play with the all-stars. I'm not a fan of D'Antoni but I agree with his "let him play and learn" philosophy. I would imaging as a coach you adjust to your players strengths and find ways to improve on them but that requires giving them your trust. I'm certainly not embrassed of Lin representing the Rockets at any game, as have other fans I've given my trust in him too.

on the contrary, if he is voted in, it just going to show how popular he is among fans. If more fans want to see him play, he will get to play. as simple as that
