My favorite is when Darrell looks at something and goes, "Lady's purses? these aren't real, but they still have some value. You see this one son? This is about a 75 dollar bill right here." No matter the "price" he always says dollar bill Oh yeah, that's a thousand dollar bill every day of the week.
It is that they spend thousands on lockers that look like complete junk. You don't spend that kind of cash hoping for something fancy in a trash bag.
Forreals! They just name prices with used furniture and then at the end of the show, they add the prices up and then call it as a profit when in reality, no one has even bought it yet. No way in hell would someone pay 1-200 dollars for that crap. I'd give $40-60 at the most. And that girl that redesigns the furniture then sells it for a ridiculous amount to her number 1 buyer is so fake. Who the hell walks into a store, asks for a price, and then buys it instantly such as the $900 candy cane color themed head board.
for those criticizing their prices don't forget they are in socal. everything is more expensive over there including junk.
Are Brandi's real? ... I have a friend that started doing this. Sometimes you do hit. He bought a locker for $100 and found $10,000 worth of jewelry secreted away in a drawer.

It's a real tragedy too. Their historical programming (which they'll show once in a blue moon) was really good stuff and definitely had a big impact on me. They've sold out now, and Natgeo's doing the same.
All reality is fake Your told who to be and how to act and than most is improv which is how you are legally allowed to call it reality tv- improv I've worked on a show and they had ladies walking around telling one person one thing (lying) and telling the other person another thing so they would fight/argue- basically they just walk around trying to stir stuff up
Not only that, but the process of cleaning up, refurbing, storing, selling, and shipping all those pieces of junk must take a LOT of time and money.

LOL! I love the fact that this has been recently floating around as real. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/QhFAkaYuGGY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Fake or not I still enjoy the show. Barry is my favorite and I would outbid anyone to get a piece of Brandi. YUUUUUUPPPPP!
I'm guilty too, I know it is rigged but I still watch it. Same with Pawn Stars. Out of all of the shows I probably dig American Restoration the most though... and I don't think that one is faked, although I do think the show probably helps pay for some of the restorations. I mean honesty, who pays four grand to get a vintage popcorn machine re-done?
