This is true. I noticed in glancing at a Knick board recently that some posters are saying TD got too much criticism last year. Seems they've transferred most of their hate to Lin, claiming that Lin intentionally renegotiated the contract with Houston to increase the poison pill.
Yeah, Douglas is a pretty good shooter. But he has no clue how to run an offense. He is a bigger, slower Aaron Brooks who plays defense, which is good. Basically a SG in a PG body. I think he is fine playing alongside Harden or Lin. I just don't want to see him and Delfino in the same back court.
Come on guys, Toney Douglas already has one of the best nicknames in the L: Do What Toney Douglas Do (DWTDD). It encapsulates his game perfectly; as much as the fans and coaches want him to be a certain way, he's just gonna DWTDD. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/QVl2QfGR16k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It's not that sucking is the norm for Douglas, it's just his game is almost one-dimensional on both ends of the floor and he rarely makes adjustment. While he's definitely aggressive on D, that's all he does and he uses the same technique on always everyone, be it a shooter, a quick PG, etc. Not that others on the team are elite defenders but they employ different strategies while guarding diff. players (as they should). The same goes for his O - it's like he's almost oblivious to what's going on, who's hot, how the opposing teams are defending us, etc. IMO Douglas is more a SG than a PG as he lacks the court vision to be an effective PG. My 2-cents.
I agree. I am not a Lin fan, and I hope he plays better because 25 million is at stake. But at least Lin scored 38
yea, he has had some decent games. But, he has looked god awful in other games, and it is well documented how bad he was his 2nd year, not because of injury.
I hope lin put a little bit more pressure on whoever he guards like TD, at least make them more uncomfortable, that is the big reason coaches like TD.
difference is Lin tends to cheats in on his man... to at least take away some space with a opposing big... if you notice opposing bigs have a field day with our front court
