this is true, even Adelman said Lowry was a pain to coach. I think his attitude has to do with some of us liking wanting Dragic more.
That's because Adelman never took away his starting job like Hollins or McHale. And why is it acceptable to basically tell 2 coaches and 2 teams to go screw themselves in 5 year career? Even T-Mac took 7 years to force his way out of 2 franchises.
I liked his attitude when it was directed at his opponents on the court. But it did feel like a double edged sword because it can always turn against you. If we were one PG away from championship, I would certainly roll the dice with Lowry. On a rebuilding team? Not so much.
Hollins I couldn't tell you about, but McHale is a simple animal. You play well, you get minutes. Basic. In retrospect, he was probably making the right decisions, because guys like Goran Dragic were a lot closer to Lowry in ability when given extended run than many ClutchFans realized at the time. Oh, it's not. It never is. The issues Lowry had in Houston were largely downplayed, but now that there seems to be a problem on his third consecutive team...it's probably him. He's the constant in all of this. It's a shame, too, because he's a passionate player and I want to see him succeed, and I just cannot infer what is going on here that is stopping him.
Actually, Adelman kept giving Brooks the starting job after Brooks had returned from injury, even though Lowry had already established himself as a very good PG and Brooks was playing like crap after the injury. Remember this board was calling for Adelman's head because of that? I don't think Lowry would take that very well even though he did not blow up in the public at that time.
Actually, Brooks never started again. Lowry had 71 starts that year to Brooks' 7 (noting he was traded at the deadline) That was probably just DaDakota flooding the board. He can have that effect where you remember the BBS yelling about something (and, in this case, questioning Adelman), when in fact, it was just DD. Stats from that year. Heypartner gets something right for a change. Brooks appeared very flustered after returning from injury bc lowry took his starting job.
