Howard is dumb...low basketball IQ dude. Smiling while missing free throws...now that's entertaining lol.
Teams that can sign Dwight (other than the crappy ones like the Bobcats and the Bucks) besides the Lakers: 1) LAC . . . . 2) Atlanta . . 3) Houston . 4) Cleveland The Clippers could have: Howard / Jordan Griffin Butler / Hill Crawford / Billups / Green Paul / Bledsoe / Leslie That starting line up and that bench. They could trade Jordan for a hybrid 4 (and lower salaries) or a better SG. He would be the perfect backup for Howard in case he gets injured and to help limit his minutes. Paul would pass the ball to Howard and set him up for the easy buckets he should be getting every game. Out of all three teams Atlanta has the most cap space. It would be fun to see a front line of Howard, Horford and Smith with Louis Williams and Devin Harris in the back court.
Major upgrade over Asik. Say what you want, but IF Dwight ever did make his way to houston, I will buy a ticket, fly half way round the world to celebrate with everyone about the biggest signing since Tmac.
I don't think the Mavs have enough cap space to give him the max. They have a lot of players they would like to keep with player options and qualifying offers I'm sure they will extend. Howard for Griffin will not happen. The Clippers view Griffin as a cash cow, and the only way it can happen is if Griffin is unhappy and forces the trade. Any team that has CP3 on it should not have chemistry issues. CP3 will have a lot of options when he drives in the paint. If Griffin can start knocking down mid range jumpers it's game over for Miami. The story would draw a lot of attention the NBA. Howard betraying the Lakers for the other LA team. It would be more interesting if they are forced to sign and trade Howard for Deandre Jordan and another player like Hill, Butler or Odom. Howard can threaten to sign with the Clippers outright if they don't do the trade they have drawn up.

But how much longer is Howard going to be the top center in the league relying exclusively on his athleticism? It's a given that he is going to want a long-term max contract. According to the new CBA, he can get 17-mil for five years. My thinking is that Houston has a serviceable center in Asik and they need a true PF. Sure Howard would be a major upgrade over Asik but wouldn't it be a better investment to spend that money on an elite PF?
If this was the case, his team wouldn't be under .500 right now. I could see Dwight going to Atlanta. It is his hometown and where he grew up. They also have a pretty good core at the moment with lots of money.
So, you guys really believe that Howard knows what he wants, what he'll want next summer? Yeahhhh, right. Sure he does.
I know he want's attention!...and lots of it!!!! ...................... ...................... ......................
I don't see Howard going to Atlanta. I was just throwing that up to have an excuse to list Houston. He already said he didn't want to play for his hometown Atlanta. He probably wants to play in a bigger market (New Jersey, LAL or LAC). My guess is he ends up on the Clippers if he does not re-sign with the Lakers. They would not have to get rid of Smith or any of their starters.
