that's interesting. if they decided to trade him now for some reason, this seems pretty realistic.

but Love trade talks probably won't start till 2014.
Morey better start stockpiling assets fast, if he wants to get him.

Nah, they have Rubio for PG, so they're not going to ask for Lin. They'll want Parsons if they're really letting Love go over money, since Parson has the best contract value. And I'm sure they'll want more stuff, since they can pretty much hold a Love sweepstakes.

This is if things go South in Minny.

Minny gets to rebuild quickly getting a young proven and improving player in Parsons, a good wing vet on a fair contract who's still relatively young in Wilson Chandler, a young player that fits Adelman's system like a glove in Patterson, and a high ceiling 7 ft'er who Adelman could mold in Motiejunas + a most likely top 18 pick.

Denver a young prospect big who fits their running style in exchange for a player who simply wasn't a good fit.

Atlanta tries out a very recent top 2 pick who's in the doghouse and hasn't shown a lot so far, but does still have nice upside if he puts it together for the low price of a non-lotto 1st.

Obviously, Houston gets a proven superstar in Love and a dead-eye shooter in Korver.

    Lin / Douglas

    Harden / Delfino

    Korver / Delfino / Mook

KLove / Mook / Greg Smith

    Asik / Greg Smith

IF Sota even consider trading Love now, they'd get a ton. Love still has 3 years minimum on his contract, and he's not making any 'lists' yet. The market would be huge.

Like, if you are Portland, don't you offer Aldridge straight up? I think you do, easily. Cleveland, Dion Waiters+Varejao+Thompson? Sure. Miami, Bosh? You consider chemistry, but you consider. Chicago, Taj Gibson+Deng? Nobrainer, you even throw in the Charlotte pick.

This wouldn't be Dwight situation. If they wait till 2015 though, and he starts making lists, which it feels like he will, then those lowball ideas would seem a bit more realistic.

Portland gets our first available 1st rd pick and NY 2nd rders from us and a future 1st from Miami and Norris Cole going to us

    Why?

Portland- if they decide to offically part ways with Aldridge and rebuild around Lillard and Batum, they may consider this package. They save a ton of money as well as receive quality prospects in Jones and Dmo + future picks.

Miami- Salaries will really be a problem soon for these guys. If Bron, Wade and Bosh all decline their ETOs, the Heat will be over the salary cap with just those guys and with the new lux tax penalties occurring, they will take a huge hit. Aldridge is much cheaper relatively and his contract has 3 years on it so they can still keep contending for future seasons. However, injuries may draw red flags for the Heat

Houston- A legit option at the 4 position and would be a very nice complement to Harden for that 1-2 punch. He may even be a big piece in a Kevin Love trade later on down the line.

    Lin/Cole
    Harden/Delfino
    Parsons/Morris
    Bosh/Patterson
    Asik/Smith

The starting lineup average would only be 25 which is still pretty young.

If Things dont get worked out in Minny, maybe a surprise trade deadline move if Love and his representatives push for a trade-

    Houston -
trades- Jeremy Lin, Cole Aldrich, T. Jones ($= 12.27)
Recieve- Kevin Love, Luke Ridinour ($=17.7mil)

    -Still 1.97mil under salary cap

    Minnesota -
    trades- Kevin Love, Luke Ridinour($17.7mil)
    recieves- Josh Smith, A. Morrow, Atlanta 1st rounder(Lottery protected)($=17.2Mil)

    Atlanta -
    trades- Josh Smith, A. Morrow($=17.2mil)
    recieves- Jeremy Lin, Aldrich, T. Jones, 1st rounder(lottery protected)($12.27mil)

    .......................................................................................................

    Why Minnesota does this-

Kevin Love has become a distraction and an embarrasement to the front office/owner. Pride sets in, and they decide that they aren't going to be bullied by a superstar. So they bring in Josh Smith with the understanding that he will be Rubio's running mate going forward, and could easily be re signed with the cap space they have.

They instantly fit in well with a run & gun fast paced Adelman style of play. Josh Smith is a hybrid big man who might do very well in a high post offensive system with alot of freedom of motion & passing.

Even though Minnesota could just sign Smith in free agency, it might actually make better sense for them cap wise to get Smith now+ some assets, and stay flexible cap wise for future moves. Anywhere they trade Love, they will have to take back major salary. Might as well get the player they want this time.

    Why Atlanta does this-

I think pretty much everyone by now knows that Josh Smith is as good as gone. This is Ferry's chance to really make a big splash in trade, and bring in a true star in Jeremy Lin. Atlanta needs that face of the franchise, and as good as Horford, Smith, Teague were at times, moving forward with the Lin/Horford as the main franchise pieces would be a good move for this team in the Eastern conference where you absolutely have to have a big name to sell tickets.

Everyone has seen what Jeremy can do with a starring role, and Atlanta is his chance, and their chance to make that happen by only giving up a player they weren't planning on re-signing anyways, an expiring contract, and a late first rounder..

Atlanta does not try to trade straight up for Kevin Love because Love's representatives have let it be known that he would not stay with Atlanta long term after next season.

    Why Houston Does This-

    Superstar #2.

Giving up Lin is something Morey wont take lightly, but in the end, you have to pull the trigger here. Lin is not going to be in a staring role in Houston sharing the backcourt with Harden, and he's too good of a player to be in a role player mode. Winning a title with two ball dominant guards isn't going to work.

You need balance on offense, and you can't have your 2nd best player just be a spot up shooter, and Harden is too good to do the same as the best player on the team. Luke Ridinour fits perfectly next to Harden. Even in San Antonio, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili would have been able to maximize their potential without the balance of Tim Duncan to give them that dynamic that ended up working so well.

    PG: Ridinour, Douglas, Machado
    SG: Harden, Delfino, Cook
    SF: Parsons, Morris
    PF: Love, Patterson, D-Mo, White
    C: Asik, Smith

Thats a REALLY, REALLY good team for many, many years to come, and they still have tons of talent that could really take a huge step forward in the future as well other than just Harden/Love.

no one is talking about the ryan man. what if i told you, you can have a power forward that can stretch the floor and still out rebound lamarcus, would that be something you'd be interested in?

Ryan anderson for ppat, jones, machado, future pick in 2099, rights to llull, and 3,000 wine cases from lex industries.

Granted this is a little old, but there's a love affair between Ferry and Josh Smith that would probably preclude him trading Josh Smith unless the return pieces are worth it.

Team has already said they have no interest in trading Anderson. Anderson is good fit for Anthony Davis.

Its all assuming Smith is planning on leaving in free agency. Maybe its a financial dispute that Atlanta is not wanting to pay enough, and Minnesota hinted towards offering more... who knows. It is a pipe dream for Houston, but there is logic in it for all 3 teams. Its actually a very good deal for Atlanta given Smith is leaving.

He's a guy I'd want as well. Young, stretch Four..better than LMA, but not the rebound machine of Love. I'm thinking it would take Parsons, PPat, Jones, and White to get him at a minimum. White is included to try to keep enough salary flexibility to still get a max player in the offseason.

He fits with both Harden and Lin. Only real drawback is that we might loss Hayesfan to the Hornets with all the Wildcats that would be on that team.

The Rockets have no interest in trading Parsons. There are lots of players that the Rockets would include Parsons in a trade if the right player is on the other end.

In terms of those 108 offseason signees who become trade-eligible Saturday, at least three names are coming up repeatedly on the personnel grapevine: Indiana's D.J. Augustin, Phoenix's Michael Beasley and Boston's Courtney Lee. There's a reason for that, though: All three are seriously struggling.

Would you be interested in getting back Lee?
    HoopsHype shows salary as:
    $5,000,000 12/13
    $5,225,000 13/14
    $5,450,000 14/15
    $5,675,00 15/16
    (27) / 10/3/1985
    6'5' / 200
We all know what he brings with his defense.
    We could send them PPat
    $2,096,760 12/13
    $3,105,301 13/14
    $4,319,473 14/15
and maybe even get an additional 2nd rnd pick again for bringing back salary.

Can't get Lee back for at least one year. Beasley? All I've heard is that he is the worst contact in league.
