http://joinhoney.com I just saved $43 on Amazon. I am in no way affiliated with this by the way. Found on reddit.com/r/frugal <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/TLTWbLXrNDs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Not so worried about the legality...but I'd love to be assured that they're really not going to abuse all the information they collect.
The extension doesn't collect any personal information. It simply scans the code of the websites looking for the code for the coupon entry, it then just queries currently know coupon codes and compares them to your shopping cart... which is simple HTML code comparison.
I don't know why it wouldn't be legal, but I am sure they really are going to 'ab-use' all the information they collect.
Yeah, I read the FAQ. I should have said "the information that they need access too". Point remains the same...just paranoid about this kind of thing.
It is a Chrome Extension and listed in the official store so it has had security checks, I also read the FAQ, and have programming background. It is a simple idea, and ingenious. Don't use it if you don't want to. I spend thousands of dollars a year on Amazon and NewEgg, so I happily will. EDIT - Here is a tech reporter endorsing it if you don't believe me. https://twitter.com/Veronica/status/277183082057068545
