I'm looking at the Wynn a lot for nightlife. Would try XS if the lines aren't long (she likes to dance). Anyone been to Marquee?
XS is my favorite. Buy your tickets online. Get there around 10pm. There will be a line but it moves fast.
The line often gets very long, since it's one of the most popular nightclubs in Vegas. If you still intend on going there, Tenchi's advice is solid.
You say you're staying @ Palazzo? Then go to their concierge where they should be able to hook you up at any dance club they have partnerships with. Being a guest at a 5 star hotel has certain priviledges. Try this and forget about going online and having to arrive before 10 PM. I live in LA and frequent Vegas and do this all the time. I'm certain you can get free dibs at any Vegas club if you ask the concierge. Rep me and enjoy.
LOL, I'm old. When we were in Vegas, it was our first weekend away from the kiddo in 15 months. I don't think we made it past midnight once.
This time! Our first night on the strip, I met up with a guy from another message board I frequent and we got ****ty playing blackjack. The last thing I remember is stumbling back to our room and buying a bottle opener at one of those kiosks because the beers I had in the room weren't twist-off. When I woke up in the morning and looked at the receipt, the time-stamp was 9:45. This was also my first time going with just my significant other and that made it a different trip altogether. We had an absolute blast, though.
I'm going to be there on Christmas day until the Friday after Christmas. Can't wait. There are so many great restaurants that it's pretty difficult to eat at even a small portion of them. Some ones I tried for the first time the last time I was there were all in Caesar's. Old Homestead was excellent. The bacon appetizer is like nothing you've ever had before. Even if you don't want steak, go and get that appetizer then go to dinner somewhere else. It's amazing. The steak was great too, and perfectly done. I also tried Joe's which is a crab place from Miami. It was the best Alaskan King Crab I've ever had even though their specialty is the stone crab. Most places charge for a pound, and at Joe's it was 1.5 pounds for about the same price. They also cut the shell for you, so there is basically no work getting the crab meat out. I tried Chef Hubert Keller's Burger Bar. It was delicious as well, and more casual. I also ate at Rao's Italian for lunch. It was fantastic. I'm definitely going to eat at Joe's again, and may revisit some of the others. I also go back to Nob Hill which was spectacular in the past. I haven't tried Gordon Ramsay's new steak place yet, so that's a possibility as well.
If no one has said it by now (I haven't read through the thread), Fitzgerald's Downtown let's you drop as little as $1 on the tables and The Plaza has a cheap 24 hour buffet. That is if both are still open, I haven't been to Vegas in four years and Downtown was dying and has been for decades.
Fitzgerald's was sold and remodeled, it is now called "The D". The same people that own the Golden Gate Hotel now also own The D. The plaza also was remodeled and no longer has a buffet. The best place to gamble downtown is at the El Cortez, although most of the other gamblers in that place are over 70 yrs old. But, that doesn't bother me. I usually spend more time downtown than I do on the strip, but I go to gamble and not for the nightclubs.
I think you should go down and walk around the Strip for a few days! Then you should go down to Bullhead City for some fun nightlife. Also in your hotel make sure to check out the movie collection. Hotels usually have the best movies. Also some of the better ones have video game controllers so you can play with those. The new Call of Duty game is sick so try to check it out while you are in Vegas since it is something fun to do in your free time.
Going to Downtown Vegas is like going to Walmart. It always makes me feel better to be amongst the dregs of society, especially after going to a nightclub full of unattainable models (or attainable but very expensive working girls).
Been to Vegas for the past 4 summers. Memorial Day is the best weekend but everything is expensive. Clubs: XS - the best club I've ever been to. I bought online, saved $20 and skipped the hundreds of people in line. Buying online works! PURE - Usually not expensive, pretty big. Chateaux - Best view from a club in vegas, pretty cheap to get into. upstairs is house music, downstairs is hip-hop/dance LAX DO NOT GO TO CLUBS- Bank, Tabu Most of clubs have phone numbers on the website and if you talk to a promoter beforehand usually you'll get a deal. Food Aria and Bellagio buffet - Go for lunch cause dinner is twice the cost and usually not worth the extra $$. Anything wolfgang puck Beverages: Beer Jack Shots, shots, shots, shots, shots, shots
