Lin, Harden, and Love all three guys from LA. cool watch, the lakers going to trade gasol for love and kahn agrees......
Thankfully, all it takes is for Kevin Love's contract to run out and the Wolves have no more say in the matter. That's just 2 years down the line, as the article points out. The Timberwolves neglected to give him the extra year, for very Timberwolves reasons.

Hard to see how, at this point, Love is a t-pup for life. I think the kid really wants to win. And can't blame him for that. And as the article noted, the ownership/management there has been disrespectful and incompetent. They probably do want to save the 5 year deal for Rubio, which of course is idiotic. But even if they do offer Kevin the 5 year deal, he might be over them by that point. This is where having to give up the Toronto pick really hurts. Cause while a package of DMo, Patterson and Parsons won't get you what you need, add the Raptors pick, especially given their performance this year, and I think you might get close. Especially considering Parsons play of late and crazy value. It's still a possibility. But would need other teams involved to offer draft picks, perhaps in a deal whereby the Wolves also get rid of Derrick Williams?
The Lakers traded away the 2nd best center in the league... when healthy, which albeit he isn't. I think Parsons included in a deal has potential to get things at least moving in the right direction. Because Parsons is a huge upgrade over whoever they have at SF, and is ridiculously cheap. So if you give them Parson, an improving Patterson, and one of DMo/Jones then there is at least value there. Try and keep Jones, as he can play a little hybrid 3/4, which you'll need with Parsons gone. Get a third team involved to maybe take Derrick Williams off their hands in exchange for a draft pick. It's not GREAT value for Love, but it's not horrible either. Especially if you consider Adelman's familiarity with the players mentioned. With Rubio's playmaking, Parsons and Patterson would be great fit. Rockets would have a glaring hole at SF, and a lot of work to do defensively, but so much potential: Lin, Douglas Harden, Delfino Morris, Jones Love, Jones Asik, Smith
If we do no one will see it is coming. Does this deserve a thread? Or even a mention? Idle speculation - are you trying to get your new thread count up buddy?
WAY, WAAAAAAAYYYYYY too much. Yes he is talented, yes he has a better shot than most 4s in the game, and the ball seems to be drawn to him to explain his absurd rebounding numbers for someone that has below average leaping and 2nd jump speed. He puts up great numbers on a well below average team with no other viable big men. He is the only person that goes for the rebound on D for the wolves. I think he would be a big help to the Rockets going forward and could put them possibly into the top 4-5 slots in the Western Conf. playoffs, but no better than that. He would help us be a top 10 team in the league, but he is not worth anything close to what you proposed, which is basically 5-6 1st round picks. That is beyond ridiculous. Patterson is coming into his own in his 3rd season, starting to produce like a true mid-level 1st round talent, Morris is showing huge improvement in his second season. T. Jones I think should be the one near untouchable youngster on this team. So much talent, so much quickness and ability for his size. I think he should be traded as a last resort, just before Harden should be traded. Aldrich is still developing, but already gives solid backup minutes at the 4-5. We need his size. Unless Ricky Rubio and Derrick Williams are coming with in that proposal you offered, forget it. You overvalued K-Love by 2-3 times
You're a hater. That's a damn steal for a 20 + 14 guy. Lin/Harden/Parsons/Love/Asik is a championship caliber team.
Sounds like the things Kobe Bryant was saying in L.A. just before they got . . . Gasol! Well, actually just before they got Fischer, but I guess that's doable also.
Not that it is terribly important, but Love's from the Portland area. He spent two semesters at UCLA.
I really don't think there's ANY chance of him being traded before the last year of his contract (the year before he can opt out). Makes no sense for minny and love already said he's willing to give it 2 years to see what they can do. I think DM definitely has to be angling to get him the year before he can walk. The trick is 1) him wanting to come to the rox 2) having the assets then in that year to make a trade 3) maybe having the cap space in that following summer to sign him out right to gain some leverage in trading for him. I think any acquisition (even for an all star caliber player like josh smith) will have to be done so with the summer of 2015 in mind. So either creating cap space to sign FA's, acquiring picks/ expirings, or tradable players like smith for matching salary and value purposes.
(Posted this in the wrong thread so copy/pasting it here) I really don't think there's ANY chance of him being traded before the last year of his contract (the year before he can opt out). Makes no sense for minny (then again there are a lot of things minny has done that defy belief) and love already said he's willing to give it 2 years to see what they can do. Are you on drugs The offer was literally two unproven tweeners, unproven jones , a d-league level big man for one of the best pf in the league. I would trade anyone but Harden on the team plus two first rounders for Love right. Now
