Why take the time to reply to a post in a forum but not actually engage in the conversation? You didn't even agree, disagree, or counterpoint my post. I guess you're too cool.
Based on what? I keep asking this and no one ever responds. Peyton Manning posted two of his best games of the season in Week 1 (129.4 QB rating) and Week 4 (130.0 QB rating), games in which Denver scored 31 and 37 points, respectively. He wasn't as good in Weeks 2, 3 and 5... which is when the Broncos coincidentally played elite opponents (ATL, HOU, NE). They've now of course won eight in a row... and of those eight, exactly one team (7-6 Cincinnati) has a winning record. Funny how this "improved a ton" happens when the Chargers, Chiefs and Raiders start popping up all over the place.
You've made it clear that your opinion is in fact, a fact, so why try to agree, disagree and/or counterpoint with someone who isn't willing to change their opinion?
Lol The point is that just about anytime Schaub has the opportunity to prove he's elite on a national stage he proves that he's not elite. And you posting all your stupid stats oh he's 18-2 or whatever doesn't mean a ******* thing.
If your theory is that the Texans shrink from the spotlight, then this is a discussion about the Texans' mental capacity - and has absolutely nothing to do with the subsequent success/failure of their opponents. Against Denver, they traveled to a hostile environment for a big early statement game against the franchise's all-time nemesis whom they'd never beaten on the road. At that time, it was a spotlight game and an ample opportunity to doo-doo the bed. The Ravens, meanwhile, were 5-1 and winners of 4 in a row, including a win against the Pats. They had ended our previous season and had never lost to us. One of three elite AFC franchises. It, too, was a huge game at that time, and another bed-messing opportunity. And, btw, you can throw Chicago into the mix, too - 7-1, IIRC, at kick-off. Again, at the start of that game, it was huge with a massive sheet-cleaning very possible. And in all three games, the Texans did *not* shrink from the spotlight. In fact, against Denver and Baltimore, the combined score after 3Qs was 67-21. If you want to argue that a) Denver has gotten much better; and b) Baltimore and Chicago have since been exposed - that's fine. But the Texans didn't possess that knowledge at the time of the games. And, and - I guarandamntee you that if they had lost all 3 - or any of the three - you'd be including it in your shrinkage defense.
i'm sure if the Texans lost to Denver all the detractors would point out that he lost to an elite QB. but since the Texans won, Manning wasn't elite then.
Manning is a 4 time MVP genius. Schaub is a Pro Bowl MVP. Who has the most to prove? Funny how in the face of the obvious you continue with some deluded opinions.
What are you even talking about? Most to prove? I was specifically referring to rezdawg's comment about the Broncos being a "much different team now", when the evidence makes it seem a whole lot more likely that Denver was merely struggling with a rough schedule (and presently benefiting from a weak one). Yes, Peyton Manning is a much better quarterback than Matt Schaub. Thanks, Captain Obvious. That has nothing to do with what I was saying. I'm discussing whether the Broncos on the field now are a substantially different team than the one we saw Sept. 25 in Denver.
The Cat is just another overweight excuse mongeror - and he's been this way since the dawn of time. Justifying terrible Houston related sports decisions like a mom protecting a brat or heyp validating a stripper doing coke off his ass cheeks with the last 10 dollars in his bank account. Forever shielding themselves from reality due to low testosterone levels. He just wants a small bite of your twinky, he can control himself. Gomp,. Sooner than you can say cheesy poofs, half your arms gone and he's nibbling on carpet crumbs.
How about total TDs, yards, completions? You have to take everything as a whole. You were looking at game managing over 8 games of a 32 year old QB. Why can't I give ground? Because he wasn't being elite. For a guy with a dominant running game and defense, I expect that. Schaub was on the cusp a couple of years ago, but it has become clear he just isn't in that next class.
They've only beaten 2 teams above .500 all year. And both of those teams are currently 7-6. Not exactly upper-echelon. The Broncos are the same team they've been all year. They're just fattening up on a weak schedule.
I think so too. That said, I'll definitely be cheering for them to play the game of their lives in the divisional round and take out New England.
I think they would beat ATL if that hadn't been Peyton's 2nd game back. Pats look like a much better team than they did early on. Texans look worse.
"Total" is irrelevant if you're going to allow context. The Texans' *average* margin of victory (in their previous 8 games with Schaub at that time) was 20. He's simply not going to roll-up counting stats in that environment. That's why I stressed efficiency: high completion %; high YPA; low turnover rate; superior QB rating (which can even out the discrepency in attempts) - all on par, if not superior, to the elite QBs. Then, WADR, you simply don't understand the sport. The Jets have the 11th ranked rushing attack and 8th ranked defense - but Mark Sanchez isn't putting up Schaub-like numbers. Kansas City and Philadephia are top 9 rushing attacks, with average(+) defenses (16th and 14th, respectively) and their QBs are terrible. Christian Ponder is not benefitting from Adrian Peterson. It's silly how many times people beat us over the head with this when no one - not a soul - is arguing that he is. He numbers - two+ months ago - were as good, if not better. But no one in their right mind - (I'll type very slowly): NO ONE - is turning down a Rodgers/Brees/Brady deal for Matt Schaub. And no one, that I know of, is running from what's been a bad stretch for him, including poor performances against Green Bay and New England.
I remember when HeyNow said he wouldn't trade Schaub for any other QB. Silly statement then and now. How can you be elite and you've never even sniffed MVP discussions. How can you be elite, when you don't have the ability to audible? 8.7 ypa lolz
No doubt... Before last night, I wasn't scared of anyone in the AFC. Now...the pats are definitely the class of the division. It's funny...if you look at the Broncos schedule, it looks almost identical to ours from last year. Start out 3-3, then a long winning streak. Difference is that everyone was so eager to discount our winning streak last year because of the weak schedule....but aren't so eager to do it with the Broncos this year.
