I voted for Smith because PF seems to be the biggest problem on the team right now. But I'm not sure if they need to max out the position through free agency.

It's obvious Patterson isn't cutting it. 8pts 2reb and no fouls from your PF is not good. Normally you don't like to have your players committing fouls, but done properly they can be useful. And the fact that your PF doesn't have any in a game speaks volumes about his play. Morris could do well in Pats place and eventually Motiejunas. It would be nice to see him get some playing time soon.

Ultimately, I think the Rockets need to go after the top free agents out there and adjust their roster accordingly. I would just rather see them apply the "never draft for need" mantra to free agency.

None of the above. Why take minutes from young, cheap, developing assets? We should use our chips to draft superstar talent.

The basketball fan in me would like to see Harden and Ginobili play together, but yeah, the Rockets shouldn't pursue any of these guys. Not for the big bucks, anyway.

You take a shot at Chris Paul and Dwight Howard and move on to the trade market from there.

    A forward in this order:
    - Al Jefferson
    - Paul Millsap
    * Iggy if the price is right

I would stay away from any max contracts, rather sign two good players from the list above than a Paul or Howard. Both are whiny man children with egos the size of Texas that we should not pursue.

Why take minutes from young ,cheap, developing assets?

Because we have the salary cap space to acquire a proven NBA player
with a solid body of work behind him, these young kids could be great
or they could all be busts! Besides in this scenario we are not trading our
young talent, we are keeping all of them and if of them blossoms all we
have to do is call him off the bench/D-League.

We should use our chips to draft superstar talent.

Unless it's a top 3 odds are he won't be a superstar, and in order
to get a top 3 you really have to suck! With Harden/Lin/Asik/Chandler
this team should not be in that category.

I understand. Unfortunately, we're not giving our young, cheap guys any minutes to develop. Unless its for the RGV

I think the team could use an upgrade from PPatt for 2-3 years. During the first two years, that PF can take on the bulk of the minutes in that position while Motie and Jones get minutes at 4. By that 3rd year, Jones or Motie should be sufficiently polished and ready to take over that spot, at which time, that PF we picked up gets traded. Why is this not reasonable?

In any case, I just want PPatt off the team.

If David West is not good enough, then Josh Smith is DEFINITELY not good enough.

I'd like to give TJ and Moti plenty of chances to show what they can do. My hunch is they will probably be bigger 4s than PPatt. And Greg Smith, who knows? I keep hoping he'll turn into Otis Thorpe. We-- well, 40% of us-- saw the job he did on DHo.
