Dude, torocan just owned you so hard you must've missed it (emphasis mine):
By the way, torocan, do you have a link to the article/interview or whatever where Morey said that about Lin's acceleration?

Um dude check out the SportScience episode on youtube.

Lin tested with higher acceleration than John Wall and Kyle Lowry (not speed but acceleration)

His was like 900km/h^2 acceleration not speed.

What makes you an expert on Lin's future? You have a crystal ball? Lin has never liked the practice, rarely did much strength until late in college. So he has a lot of room to grow physically, and technically since this is basically his real "rookie" season.

Lin needs more speed and finishing ability to be following in Parker's footsteps.

Haha, thanks dude. I've seen that Sports Science episode before but I still trust Morey's motion-tracking cameras more than ESPN analysts' estimates. Actually I found the interview that torocan was talking about (posted on ClutchFans no less): [Sports Talk 790] Daryl Morey Interviews (at 5:40 mark).

Interviewer: We were talking about the technology you guys use, the 3D technology where you can measure player, you can track player movement from everywhere on the court: spacing, burst, speed. Can you give us some insight into Jeremy Lin? Because if I remember correctly, there was some tremendous metric on his ability off the screen and roll to burst toward the basket and I wonder if he had that still? Or if that's something that's been missing due to injury? Can you address that?

Morey: Yeah, he's the highest accelerating player that we've measured. As you mentioned we can measure anything. So his first step, he can accelerate from a stop to his first move faster than any player we've measured. To be fair, we're only a few years into measuring on that level. If you're gonna change direction, you've got to be able to accelerate and decelerate, and one of the things that we've noticed was his acceleration was still there with his injury, but his deceleration was something that was sub what he had been in the past, but has improved over time.

    good night,
    your generic lin hater. =/

I think he has what it takes. Court vision and the drive to succeed.

He has the speed. Just not the finishing ability.

LOL @ comparing Lin to Parker.

Get back to me when Lin wins 3 rings, then we can talk.

What's wrong with you? How can you laugh at Tony Parker for comparing Lin to himself? He's one of the most beautiful people in the world. Are you jealous?

No, but I am laughing uncontrollably at this comparison.

Its like comparing Tom Brady to Tim Tebow. Good for laughs but that's about it.

You would be correct if they grew up in the same system, but Parker already had tons of international experience that was likely more valuable in translating to the NBA game. So the gap, though still significant, is not quite as big. Lin has barely gotten much time even at PG (he was even forced to play SG in college). In other words, from an age standpoint, Lin has more hope of making up ground than another 24 year-old who had a ton of NBA/international/major college PG experience. The odds are still against him, but they always have been at every level, and he keeps proving doubters wrong. Hopefully he stays injury free and we all get to see how far he can go.

Brooks's game was very different from Parker's except speed. Lin has a lot similarity with Parker.

Sounds like you hate Lin no matter what. There are some pretty good PGs I have watched without 3 rings (or even 1 ring)....Stockton, Nash, Price, I could go on.

Ok, so you're continuing the trend of comparing Lin to HOF and all time great PG's. No, Stockton never won a ring thanks in no small part to Jordan and Hakeem, two of the best players to ever lace em up.

Stockton posted numbers that even in Lins wet dreams couldn't achieve. Please, stop these stupid comparisons. A better comparison for Lin right now would be someone like Matt Maloney.

    WTF?! 900km/h^2??

He should drop the Rockets and join the Justice League!

You missed my point. You said that you didn't even want Lin compared to Parker until he had 3 rings. That means we can hardly compare anyone in the history of the NBA to Parker, because there are only a few PGs with 3 rings. So you honestly rate Lin roughly equal to Maloney in terms of production and potential?
