Seems like some fans think this is NBA2K and you could trade Durant for Adam Morrison and Luke Walton.
I don't know whose fault it is, I don't even care any more. This frachise has sank so far since the Hakeem years that I've become numb to most of it. But regardless of whose fault it is, I can tell you with certainty that I will not watch another Rockets game until we start holding teams to under 100 pppg.
Have you ever heard of this thing called PACE? The Rockets could easily hold teams under 100 ppg by simply holding onto the ball for a full 24 seconds on every offensive possession. That wouldn't make them a better defensive team. It would just make them boring. Instead, they choose to push the pace. While they definitely need to improve defensively, the number of total points they give up is not the "be all, end all" for determining how good they are defensively. Oh, and they're the youngest freaking team in the league.
Yes, I've heard of pace. But in the current era no team wins the NBA championship giving up 100+ ppg, it just doesn't happen. And I know they're the youngest team in the league, but the total disregard of defense is something I just cannot bring myself to watch. It's not the brand of basketball I want here in Houston, it doesn't win and I would rather see my team miss 10 shots in a row than give up 10 layups in a row. Defense is all about wanting to win, and putting forth effort. I want to see more effort and seriousness from this team. Maybe my expectations are unrealistic but **** it, I'm tired of seeing this team suck every year.
I'm tired of getting shelled by the Spurs and Mavs every time we play them for the last 15 years. Tired of it. Not gonna do it anymore. This team needs to show some real progress soon or I simply just won't care about it anymore. Im borderline ready to stop watching the NBA as is, and I've been close to that for the last 2 or 3 seasons. If we don't at least make the playoffs this year Im done.
The defense needs to improve I agree with that but I don't see what your so upset about. We brought in a lot of good pieces this year and everybody is still learning how to play together and getting better all of the time. Plus we have room to make another big move when one comes along. I'm happy with the new direction of the Rockets.
Is this real life? Morey got us Harden, Lin and Asik while preserving room for a max contract AND making us the youngest team in the league to boot. Please shut up.
How bout you go be a fair weather fan instead of telling everybody about it. Literally nobody cares...
Reading some of the posts and replies in this thread make me wonder about the true IQ of our fan base. It's depressing.
Guess not, he found one. Maybe it's big men that have been eluding the NBA. He would not give up Asik and Parsons for Smith (something I posted two weeks ago). I only posted it because I knew that's what Atlanta would want. Now that Smith is still in Atlanta we can get him without giving up anything during the off-season.
about 160 different posters in this thread, less than half agreeing with the topic while the rest are arguing against it. out of over 46,000 members I'd say it is a small percentage of our fanbase that obviously is clueless.
I'm glad that Harden fell in Morey's lap, but this organization was literally frozen in place for two+ years, because Les couldn't accept that Yao was finished. No amount of success this season justifies the "Yao plays 24 minutes" a night fiasco.
Did we make the playoffs already? Morey has made plenty of mistakes, some of them really pissed me off. Luckily, Harden fell on his lap so now he has the last laugh.
