I have doubts re this kind of communication style. My bigger issue with Dwight isn't so much halfcourt defense --- he clearly doesn't get covered by teammates when he goes to help someone, and Kobe is as much to blame as anyone for that. In 99% of situations, that's not on him. But he's not running hard in transition D. Maybe that's still his back... conditioning... or is it motivation... I wonder. His usage stats are a bit boosted by hack a Dwight. Also, his touches have been very inconsistent. A ton of a few games, and then in some games it's Kobe mode. It has to be frustrating. Then you add his teammates failing him in halfcourt D. Then you add the diva aspect of his personality. So I wonder if it's not just mostly "ahh screw you guys, i'm going home" when it comes to his effort in transition D.
Maybe it is not about touches for Dwight, maybe he is struggling with his health? Back injuries are usually pretty serious, especially those which end with surgeries. Dwight's numbers have been ok so far but he's not the superman of old when he was a monster defensivly. He doesn't protect the rim as well as he used to and I think it is because he is just not 100% and we don't know if he will ever be.
Great find re: turnovers. It's not surprising they would be high, since the Lakers are learning a new system, which can lead to confusion and turnovers, and because they're starting 3rd and 4th stringers at PG.

If Dwight learned to make some FTs, the Lakers would have won. Hack-a-Dwight is still an effective strategy against the Lakers.
