Actually Lin did quite well against the Lakers last year. Possibly the most memorable game during Linsanity.

Dwight Howard, on this Lakers team, is a glorified role player.

If I were Dwight I would leave.

For some reason Dwight has always dismissed the idea of going back home to Atlanta, even with his bud (Josh Smith) on the team.

    He does look kinda...normal.

I mean he looks like a really good center..he doesn't look like a superstar player at all out there although he's still putting up good numbers.

Lakers now have 12 losses: 8 more than the Grizz, Spurs and OKC; 6 more than the Clippers. A couple more games of separation and their highest potential is 5th seed unless injuries derail one of the top 4.

Maybe the Nuggets will figure things out and push the Lakers to #6.

the Lakers should worry about the likes of the Warriors, Jazz, Wolves, Mavs, and Rockets before they worry about catching Denver...

I'm started to see a trend, don't know if this has been discussed already.

Lakers are 1-9 when Kobe takes 20 shots or more. Rest of the time they are 8-3.

Whether in the Princeton offense or with D'Antoni's offense, defense is going to take a lesser role than offense. Given that the focus is on offense and his team is filled with talented scorers, it makes sense that his taking shots away from them would hurt the team even if he's hitting 48%. His asst/to ratio has suffered even though he should be doing more playmaking this season and Nash has been out for most of it.

I think this is related to him marking his territory with Howard's presence. Howard is taking just over 11 shots while Bynum was taking just over 13 shots last season. Gasol is taking 2 shots less than last season. Metta is taking 3 more shots though he is playing 10 more minutes than last season.

I think Metta needs to take fewer shots (his scoring efficiency is poor) and Kobe needs to pass the ball more/better and take fewer shots as well. Spread the ball a bit more.

shame, Howard needs to score more, not just grabbing some rebounds.

5 of 11 is just poor for a center like him.

he should at least take 15 shots and made 9 field goals.

he should shot a 65% freethrow, with at least 12 freethrow attempts.

you know Howard had 5 fouls this game, and he had usually 4 fouls a game.

he's giving a lot of freethrows to the opponent, and he made 1 of 2 from the line, wtf!

howard is expected to score 25 pts, 14 rebounds a game very easily.

but he's far away from that, that sucks.

where is his powerness, where is his domination?

11 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 for 11 from the field, 1 for 2 from the line.

    this is howard?

    this can't help the lakers.

we know howard has his weakness, that is freethrow.

but he should show his strong point most of the time before people are going to foul him on purpose.

this team is failing, at least it's failing fans game after game.

and the D'Antoni, what a loser, Nash is his dad, damn, he can't do anything for the broken team right now? with 4 wins and 8 loss after his debut?

i hope KFC come out coach the lakers again.

You can't shame anybody. The thing is you never know when you going to get the ball from Kobe. How can you be consistent when he takes so many shot and doesn't ****ing cut, play defense and isn't a leader

Same Ish another year. Kobe stats it up all season (chucker) and then decides to be a playmaker in the playoffs and be lie y u no score.

Jim Buss has no business running the team. It's time for Dr. Buss to sell, as none of Jim's three coaching hires has worked and he refuses to turn control over to Jeanie.

Their offense is fine. The big problem is with their defense.

    Questions for discussion:

    1. Did the Lakers make a mistake firing Mike Brown so early? Was he a better option than D'Antoni?

    2. I'm getting a little concerned about D'Antoni. IMO, he's a very poor fit for their roster and guarantees they won't play up to whatever potential they have. Would Buss eat crow and hire PJ this season in a panic move?

After playing a few games for Brown and D'Antoni, Howard probably realizes that (despite being a whiny jerk) SVG was a very solid coach that prepared his teams well. This has to be a tough adjustment.

Mike Brown should not have been hired in the first place.

It's impossible to judge the Lakers when they are being run by a terrible, third string PG like Duhon. It's like judging the performance of a race car with no driver. Wait until Nash gets back, then we'll see.

The implication being that Mike D'Antoni isn't a solid coach and doesn't prepare his teams well. Cute. Unless you yourself are in those practices, in those pre-game film sessions, and so therefore have prior knowledge of what the coach has emphasized and taught, and can therefore make a distinction between that and the execution of the players, then you're basically just talking out your ass. Pretty much like any sports fans with Coach Criticisms on the internet.

BeeBeard, it would help if you talked less like a jerk. You're a good poster, but damn, quit acting all high and mighty all the time.
