I complain when the coaches don't play their best players.

lol let's play Patterson at center instead of the 7 footer we picked up in the offseason what can possibly go wrong

Oh wait, we saw what could go wrong all of last season.

 

I know Mauri doesn't like to get involved, but couldn't he tell the coaching staff to stop overplaying Harden and rotate the players?

Really? Immediately after the first game since he saw his daughter buried? That's cold.

 

If only we could have had a shot at Rick Adelman. Or Jeff Van Gundy.

 

So true and so sad. McFail is a joke and needs to go ASAP.

 

It is a official Mcfail is a joke! We need complete new coaching staff.

 

You mean you enjoyed watching the Rockets for the first 6 games when they played great defense like JVG's teams, and crappy offense like JVG's teams? Or did you enjoy watching the Rockets for the games after that, when they played great offense like Adelman's teams, and crappy defense like Adelman's teams? And overall, did you enjoy the Rockets being a .500 team like Adelman's teams post Yao? Or enjoy JVG's mediocre Rockets when they didn't have both Yao and T-Mac healthy together?

Instead of wishing for Adelman or JVG, I'd prefer wishing for another star player and/or our youngsters to continue to develop. At least I'd be looking forward to something that matter, rather than looking back on this non-existent greatness that never existed in the first place.

Thank you. I always wonder if fans were drunk throughout Adelman's campaign, and too young to even remember JVG's years in Houston as a coach and only know him through ESPN commentary. Both were flawed coaches just as McHale is for different reasons. It really just came down to whether you want Good offense, and bad defense, or Good defense, and horrid offense.

In all actuality you should be loving McHale then because you get the best of both worlds. They were a solid defensive team in the first week or so of the season, and now its the opposite. At least you are getting a nice variety of looks during the season.

 

Our defense under Adelman was 2nd and 4th his first two seasons.

It fell to middle of the pack after we lost a 7'6 center and had to utilize a scrappy player who was 12 inches shorter.

 

Actually we had both under Rick's first two seasons...

Not a McHale fan, but our problem is personnel over coaching

 

We need Jeff Van Adelman or Rick Van Gundy.

 

Let's play Carlos Delfino at power forward. What can possibly go wrong?

 

Hence, why I want us to upgrade our talent first, before complaining about coaching. If the Rockets have prime Yao/Deke on this team instead of Asik/Smith, and we're 9-10 with horrible defense, then I'd start complaining about a coaching change. Until then, a coach can only coach the talent he has available.

 

I like McHale... but I don't think he's the right guy for this squad... he just doesn't seem to know how to get the most out of these players...
