Just read that Obama quit tennis for hoops after getting a racist comment from a tennis pro. Just sayin.
I have to register an account to stop somebody using this as a fact. That's not what Jeremy said. He said he could not see himself playing oversea, If things didn't work out in nba, he would play oversea for only one (or two) year. Actually he already get ready to play in Italy before Knicks picked him up. You can google "Jeremy Lin Italy". He has been fighting all kinds of odds right from beginning, and 1.5 years into nba, cut twice, almost third time and there was no hope in sight before linsanity. Anybody could get discouraged at that time. I wouldn't call him not hunger, I'm surprised that he was even last this long and still didn't give up.
dude, your signature is crap if you think Lin is an all time Rockets point guard. Sam Cassell, who never started for the Rockets is 2 billion times better than him. that's right I said 2 billion times better.
why get so upset about what others think? you seldom post recently , but when you do , its almost always about one certain player or his fan. take a break from that topic. btw, the '2 billion times better' comment is crap as well like his sig.
Lets give it some time to see what Lin becomes, you never know how good he can be, I think he has a high upside.
do you anything about the Rockets? they have hall of fame players in their 40 plus years of existence. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but some times you have to tell people their opinions are crap. like if some new fan thinks the 94 knicks were better than the 94 rockets, my opinion would be they should go f themselves.
Oh, sorry my math was wrong. Sam Cassell is 5 billion times better than Jeremy Lin. I'm sorry I don't believe any long time Rocket fan would put Jeremy Lin above any Rocket point guards like Calvin Murphy. Right now, Allen Leavell would start over him. And if you need to google Allen Leavell, then you wouldn't be qualified to argue this point.
Why exactly is he your favorite point guard? he hasn't done anything yet to be worthy of an all Rockets team. Ralph Sampson was not a small forward, but I assume you wanted him to be one. Parson has proven himself as a legit Rockets starter.
Murphy was also one of my favorites, watched him and Malone, good times. You seem to have a personal issue with Lin.
What do you see in him that gives you the feeling that he has a high upside? Personally, I hate the argument about player "ceiling" as it pertains to the NBA. Good players don't get question about their future upside or ceiling, they're just good straight out of the box. Look at what Lillard is doing this year as a rookie, look at what Rubio did last year, these guys have talent and they can shoot the ball. Shooting the ball isn't something you just fix overnight, its something you're supposed to be able to do on day one and Lin is a horrible shooter, maybe the worst in the league.
Of course Ralph never played SF but IMO those 5 playing at their peak would be my favorite team to watch. Devastating on offense and defense.
I have nothing against Lin. I just don't think anyone who has watched Rockets basketball (not knicks) would put him on an all time Rockets list or become a 'favorite'. he must be your favorite because of non basketball reasons, because you can easily argue MUCH better point guards in the 40 plus years of Rockets basketball. Sorry, I'm from the point of view that players have to do stuff first for their team to get glory.
I have to agree with Tinman. The fact that is says All-Rockets team made me laugh too. This team has so much history and pride that even considering Lin on that list is down right disrespectful. The guy would't even crack top 20 pg's
My sig says since 1980. I like the way Lin plays the game and followed him since college. Delighted he joined my favorite team the Rockets. Of course his shooting/offense this year is not there but I'm hopeful things will work put. If not I will take him off.
I don't even think he's better than Sleepy Floyd at this point of his Rockets career. What about Steve Francis? he turns the ball over slightly more than Lin, but he's better than Lin. I'll take Steve Francis and James Harden front court.
