Why is there a thread on this? I guess because the video exists? I got postgame with OJ Mayo, James Harden and Jeremy Lin and posted threads for all 3.

And better question is where are the Omer Asik interviews after ANY game? He doesn't do them... I think I've seen him in the locker room once ever, for maybe 20 seconds.

I have no idea what you are whining about.

First of all, like it or not, Lin is still the most popular player on the team (although he is not even the second best player on the team) and there are plenty of people interested in his interviews and his thoughts about games. Today, the decision play him only 18 mins is even odd so people want to know his thoughts about that. What's wrong with that?

Second, if you just read a few fans posts on the game thread or even pay attention to the game announcers, you would know obviously Asik was benched to match up the Mavericks small lineup. So unlike Lin's situation, there is not much to ask anyway. Plus, did you ever find Asik's interview here? He rarely gives the interviews and Clutch mentioned this before and even explained why.

Last but not least, nobody forces you to read any Lin threads, do you know if you don't want to hear anything about Lin, you simply don't have to click those Lin threads? Clutch clearly put the thread title there: "Jeremy Lin after playing just 18 minutes vs. Mavericks". Was that not clear enough for you to know what this thread is all about?

He's not broken by bad games. If it's just bad games, he will work hard to improve. It's something in his control.

Trying to get the coaches to trust him is a moving target. He did nothing wrong, knocked down his jumpers, made some steals, limited his TOs, had a few assists, and is still getting benched for some lame excuses. There is nothing else he can do. Hence BROKEN.

Jeremy Lin was never meant to be the face of the franchise. You don't buy "face" players for only $8 million a year. Using that standard, Asik was just as much the face of the team as Lin was.

At most, Lin was going to temporarily be the highest profile player on a team of kids that was expected to be a lottery team.

Then Harden came and everything changed.

I do agree with you in that Lin has been mismanaged this season. What's more frustrating is that we've seen glimpses, even games, when he was his old self. Just watch the Toronto and Utah games, especially the Utah game in which he took over the game in the final few minutes.

That was the one game which he bested Harden in every statistical category, I believe.

But the Rockets probably have some kind of quid pro quo with Harden to ensure that he's the main man. That takes away from Lin's game though, thus his struggles.

Well, Harden is the best player on the team and dropped 40 points. Lin is barely a starter.

Simple. Just check out the number of views. Hardin is the best player, but Lin still has the volume. If you're not either Hardin or Lin you better have a real nice game to be featured.

You sound like the old lady who complains about the man who lives across the street walking around naked in his house. "I can see him clearly through my binoculars! It's disgusting!!"

I don't think this is just Lin. McHale didn't like what he saw in the first quarter, and basically only trusted 2 of his starters (Harden and Parsons). Asik only played 20 minutes too, and he has had a much better season than Lin.

The team ladder has been defined. Harden and Parsons are the 2 best players on this team. They will play regardless. The other guys' PT varies depending on performance and effort.

Harden and Lin can not co-exist and it is because of their style of play. They are both ball-dominant players.

Houston should let Lin be the primary ball-handler though because Harden is a great shooter and also because Lin is not a ball-stopper and doesn't kill the ball-movement like Harden does. The ball moves much better when Lin is in control than when Harden is.

OKC has gotten much better at moving the ball this season and it is because Harden is no longer with them. Harden did the same thing to Westbrook last year by turning him into an off-ball shooter. Now Harden is doing the same to Lin.

If so, it's going to be a long season...not Harden and Parsons being the best players but what McHale sees.

yet scoring is not indicate that he is the best in the team...

Nash was the best in the team even he wasn't score much rather then assist to Amare, Nash make Amare looks like the beast, but when amare gone to NY , what happen? Amare looks struggle...

Yes Harden is best scorer in rockets, but he is no kobe... he still need someone to run the offense... just my 2 cent.

and i cannot see the connection between LIN and HARDEN cause they both need ball in their hand, and all trade messed up when rockets bring harden comes, then LIN will not effective,

If now.. coach prepare lin as ball handler, then here the question: do you think HARDEN can accept it as a second handler, hell no, but if you ask " do you think lin can accept as second handler or maybe third# PG, He probably won't argue what the coach told,

i feel sorry for LIN, He just too soft, he has to build some ego and emotion

the difference is he was creating off the dribble, now he's a spot up shooter.

also, he's shooting more 3's than before.

Lin is a great guy, a hard worker, and a true team player.

But I'm sorry...the dude just isn't playing well enough this season. He really needs to step it up, because that contract we gave him is looking more ill advised by the game.

Having said that though, he's young, and it's still early.

I don't understand people critiquing Lin for THIS game. He did well for the minutes he was given. With more minutes, who knows what would have happened.

How can he be able to step up if he is only allowed to play 18 mins regardless wether he plays well or not?
