McHale you gotta play Greg Smith more and overall you gotta play more than 4?black players I could see if we had a Rick Adelman or Jerry Sloan system but we don't and this is definitely not the 80's Celtics.
How many points did we score tonight? It is clear, its our defence and you are a fool to believe elsewise. If we score 109 every night, I would be more than content.
i saw Harden sat right next to Finch to talk about something when harden benched for a rest. i wonder what they were talking about. some plays?
Funny Stat... Greg Smith in 13 mins per game 7 pts grabs 4 rbd & 0.5 Blk, Patrick in 30 mins 14 pts grabs 5 rbd & 0.7 blks. I love Pat's jumpshot, it's money...but he has to be more aggressive on the glass.
I agree that he should have taken some more time off. I know he probably wants to work through the grief but I don't feel this is healthy for him.
Oh please. It's arguable that they have more talent than we do. Clutchfans just wants something new all the time when things aren't going our way.
I believe McHale has three years left on his contract, including this year, then team option the fourth year.
When Feigan first reported the McHale signing, Im pretty sure(could be wrong) it was only a 2 year deal with an option on the third getting the same amount Adelman was making. I personally dont want to see McHale fired during the season. Its just unprofessional unless there are unusual circumstances. In the summer, we should get a pretty good idea of what McHale can do over a full season(something he's never had). I agree with those that say he sometimes does some questionable things as a coach, but so do the best of them. Even Popavich is often guilty of making questionable calls as a coach. The roster does make a difference, and the fact of the matter is that the Rockets roster shouldn't really even be winning as many games as it has been. So even despite the questions one might have about McHale and his staff, in the end, this is about as good as its going to get right now. If this team is going to take the next step, its going to be because of the players performance, not because McHale made a questionable coaching decision or two.
http://www.chron.com/sports/rockets...o-four-year-deal-to-coach-Rockets-1684946.php It was reported as four-year contract with team option the last year. I don't believe Morey will fire McHale no matter how terrible he coaches this year. Any early contract termination has to come from Les. I posted it before that McHale was Les hire and if you think about it, Morey was just too smart to just let it happen. His GM tenure will outlast McHale.
Firing a coach is unprofessional...? maybe it would be unprofessional if he was doing his job. Sometimes he makes questionable decision...?? more like every fricking game, the guy is clueless when it comes to coaching, he just doesn't have it in him, and please don't Popavich and Mcfail in the same sentence.
Ok that makes sense. Doubt they pick up the 4th year in all honesty if they are still a lower-middle of the pack team, but if the team really jells over the next 18 months it might be smart to keep the coaching/player dynamic in tact. I never saw the McHale hire as a long term thing. I saw him as a figurehead that could be a good representative for the franchise for a few seasons while they rebuilt beyond the Yao years. The way this team is built, with him, or without him the end result wouldn't be that much different IMO.
We'd have made the playoffs last year and thus most likely wouldn't have James Harden. Praise McHale for stealth tanking.
Firing a coach mid season right after his daughter passed away.... yes, I would consider that unprofessional. Not comparing Pop & McHale as coaches. All Im saying is that if a coach makes an "unsafe" decision he's either going to be the Goat or be labeled as Gutsy if it works. When is does work and the coach is labeled then as gutsy, you have to look at the players he has to coach. If Pop never had Duncan, Robinson, Manu, Parker, and got amazing performances from role players over the years like Horry, Bowen, Kerr, and Johnson, those "Gutsy" calls might not look so good. Its just an example that its all about the players the coach has to work with that make the real difference in the end in that team being a contender or non-contender. If the Rockets are a non-contender this season, he's not going to be the only person to blame for that.
