The sort of trades I'd propose can't happen because Morey won't give up so soon on Lin. The kid thinks too much, he's brain-freezing himself out of the game, he needs a coach to hand him a ball and say, "Do"; but it won't happen here.

Also, other teams won't hurt chemistry. How I'd love to move Lin + power forwards for Bosh (suppose we'd have to take Chalmers, too).

Kevin Love would be the ultimate "get" but he's way off the market.

I think he would if we could get decent value. The franchise was in a totally different state when we signed Lin. Lin was just someone who’d bring Les money while we rebuild. Now we have Harden though and we need to focus on putting good players around him…The problem is getting decent value when he’s sucking like this. If we can get an expiring stop gap PG from anyone I really think we should jump all over that.

The primary reason for trading 2Pat and 2M is to make room for Jones and D-Mo at PF.

The Rockets tried to get Patty Mills when he was a free agent.

Possibly Patterson will be traded to San Antonio for Patty Mills + a draft pick, though I would rather get Nando de Colo, but I doubt they would trade him.

The sort of trades you'd propose won't happen because Miami isn't trading Bosh for Lin + spare parts.

    So, here's a random non-Rocket trade idea:

    To OKC: Goran Dragic
To PHX: Kevin Martin, Toronto's 1st Round Pick

PHX isn't going anywhere with or without Dragic. So, they trade him for a lotto pick, plus whatever they can by flipping Martin (maybe this year, maybe in a S&T).

OKC gets essentially a cheaper version of James Harden.

    OKC gets Harden
    HOU gets Dragic and Lowry
    Toronto gets Lotto pick
    PHX gets Westbrook

    Everybody is happy

I actually really like anything that allows Westbrook play his natural shooting guard position, but hard to imagine phoenix doing it.

Maybe JJ Barea from TWolves? This dude have great results in past seasons and anywhere he plays (college or for national team). And TWolves have already Rubio coming back soon and Ridnour at PG. TWolves probably would be happy to trade him :)

Now that Nene is starting to get healthy & his legs back underneath him, I have to admit that he's starting to look like the guy they were going to sign just 12 months ago. Come February, I wonder if he's a guy they might look to move... again. If the Rockets feel like he's going to add the low post dynamic they need, he should be easy to trade for.

    Well, that, too. :)

Although Miami's gonna take it in the you-know-what if they stay so far over the luxury tax for....how many years in a row?

Still, they won't hurt their chances for another title anyway.

It would take a lot more than just "Lin + power forwards" to get Bosh, though.

If the Heat were to entertain trade offers for Bosh, I think you'd have to start with Asik, Lin, a couple of our PFs, taking back Mike Miller and even that might not get it done.
Then you'd also need to find a third team in need of a PG (e.g. Utah), because Lin doesn't really fit with the Heat and if you wouldn't want to take on Miller to preserve cap space for next summer you'd need to find another team willing to take on a contract for young talent (e.g. Charlotte).

Lin should be going to a place where he can be the man, play in a loose system and just play basketball. Trade him somewhere he is appreciated and not mistaken for an off-guard.

Patterson can go to but who would take him?

If the right player is available, I don't mind losing Parsons either.
