I'm not clear on why he's getting benched.

Is it his defense? Shooting? Pushing the ball up? Decision making? Doesn't fit well with Harden? All of the above?

I just want to see the coaches try to build his confidence back up. Put him in a position to employ his strengths. Don't give him too much to think about. Look at D'Antoni tape and give Lin X minutes a game to do tht stuff. Incorporate some sets just like some of the OKC sets were put in for Harden. And close the games out with Lin on the floor. The short term loss will be worth the long term gain.

He is such a good kid. He was moved to smile when the reporter told him the coach told the media, "Jeremy is gonna be fine."

I liked the 3 guard set we ran for a bit...it was decent...I really wanna root for him, but when he is playing he has to play with reckless abandon...just ball out look for your shot first...and then settle down and get everyone else going...Harden will get his...Lin needs to become selfish and attack..when is the last time we said a player needs to be selfish...I would love for him to do well...but things couldnt have started worse for Lin...Go Rockets..

I think the most logical reason is doesn't fit well with Harden. Staggering playmaker minutes, most likely.

TD w/ Harden merely means TD plays SG. Lin might be brought on for limited minutes in the middle of games to run 2nd unit w/ TD again as SG while the bulk of the minutes will be taken by TD running alongside Harden as primary ballhandler.

Trying his best to not throw people under the bus or cause any locker room issues. Win or lose he has always seemed a classy individual, I hope that he improves enough so that the coaches have enough faith in him to not warrant pulling him off the court so much.

Lin is just doing his best to hide the true master plan. Which is of course to build up Douglas' stats and rep as a 'tenacious defender' so the Rockets can get something for him at the trade deadline. :)

This... sadly I think the coaches' philosophies might be different. Different incentives for them. short term loss means a worse win/loss record for them (big incentive for coaches).

what really killed lin's game was asik's turnovers on easy layups. he stagnated the whole offense that lin was running. in any case 2/3 from the 3pt line is getting it done. in comparison delfino was 2/10.

Perhaps it's his shooting, but a player like Parsons has been stinking it up lately as well and he still gets his minutes.

I think it's mainly that he doesn't fit into the Harden-centric system right now.

I say this while realizing that Lin only ran 4-5 plays himself. Every other time he gave up the ball past half-court even when Harden wasn't on the floor (those 2 mins lol). Sigh... I have no idea anymore.

Lin shouldn't have to be shooting more 3's than driving lay-ups or floaters.

That's why he's struggling right now.

Lin played well in the whole 3rd quarter, he was hitting his shots , got steal, deflection and defense and rebound. The rockets were leading heading to the 4th. I'm surprise he didn't get to play in the 4th ..

This loss is not on Lin.. its on the coaching staff. I have no idea what kind of ofense the rockets are running. they're trying to make Lin a spot up shooter standing in the corner , its like trying to make rondo and rose a spot up shooter shooting 3's standing in the corner..yeah

I watched Lin's game against Hornets and Sixers last season.

He had too many To. and shoot poorly in these 2 games.

But he bounced back when he played more minutes.
He is smart enough to adjust.

Let me make it simple for you LOFs to understand why its harder to root for him because of the LOFs although their actions shouldn't change our perception of him.

    Posts like these:

Be realistic. He is never gonna go to that level a.k.a "Linsanity" again.

It remind me how the Rockets lost when they tried to play Lowry and Dragic at the same time.

I wonder if McHale knew why he did what he did.

Tonight's game was so frustrating to watch. We came back from so far back just to cough it up at the end with piss-poor defense.

Sign me up for the "Fire McHale" bandwagon.

Harden had 6 TOs tonight, and he's been Houston's biggest TO culprit this season. He needs his playmaking load lightened.
