Games like tonight and last night made me yearn for the return of JVG.

The breakdown in defense was the norm these days. We played the softest interior D in the western conference. Our perimeter defense is non-existent. We don't have guys that can play help defense and cover a lot of ground.

Let's hope McHale is noticing this very same problem. You can't win consistently when you play defense like we do.

Thanks for the link, wow Mayo had 17 in the last 6 minutes of the first quarter. Incredible.

Anyway, my original point I made a few pages back still stands.

The reason Lin wasn't on the floor that much tonight was because the Rockets were playing better with Douglas on the court. You can debate all you want about whether or not Douglas is a better player than Lin (I think Lin is the better player overall FWIW), but if you watched the game tonight it's apparent that for whatever reason, the Rockets were playing better when Lin was on the bench.

No problem with being disappointed. Would like to think that Lin himself is disappointed. Now, I don't think be is being utilized properly according to his play style, but his season has, without a doubt, been disappointing.

Actually, in the 6min Lin played in 1Q, Mayo only scored 5 points.

Go to the NBA.com and look at the play-by-play - http://www.nba.com/games/20121208/DALHOU/gameinfo.html

At 7:17 - Mayo Pullup Jump shot: Made (5 PTS)
At 5:55 - Lin Substitution replaced by Douglas
At 5:39 - Mayo Driving Layup Shot: Made (7 PTS)

So, Lin and TD each played 6 min in 1Q. Mayo scored 5 pts with Lin on the floor and 11 with TD on the floor.

I guess for Lin to have a good game he had to score 20 points and 8 assists in just 18 minutes of playing time. sigh, I really am starting to lose faith in the coaching staff. At this rate, no one is going to want to trade for Lin and the end result is a 8 million dollar benchwarmer who isn't given a chance to develop with the youngest team in the NBA who last I heard wasn't trying to contend for a championship this year? I just don't get it.

Lin wasn't even on Mayo the 6 minutes he was in in the first quarter.

I don't think the team player better. But I do think Douglas fits the role they are asking their pg to play better, even though he really can't shoot either.

This is the coaching staff that benched a superior player in Lowry for Dragic

A few things that will improve Rockets in the long term:
    1. Houston needs to stick with their starters for a good duration of the game, no matter how bad it looks. More game time equals more cohesion, especially for a young team. The key is a young team....which means more time.
    2. Better defense. More game time will help as well.
    3. High TO is killing the team. Harden is the new Jeremy Lin as far as a TO machine. Harden is great but he needs to limit his TOs.
    4. So far, coaching looks to be a bit terrible. However, with a young team it's also a learning process.

In this game we did. On other games, we don't play better when Douglas is on the floor. Honestly, I don't even really like Douglas. This whole time I've just been trying to get people to accept that the team played better tonight when he was on the floor as opposed to Lin.

Lol, you're delusional. Just read the post above yours.

Perhaps they aren't true LoHs but instead trolls that like to rile people up.

9-9 is so bad for the youngest team in the NBA.
Let's blow it up and rebuild!

    Oh wait....

Gonna stay away from Lin/Douglas in this post.

I really hate how the Rockets are making a habit of playing like **** to start the game. We just dig ourselves in these huge holes and it's just not a good way to play. We are absolutely horrible defensively as a team.

This was just a frustrating game that the Rockets should have won. And it sucks that Harden might not play Monday, but it's not like we had a chance against the Spurs anyway.

    Sigh.
